Like the fella says, in Italy for 30 years under the Borgias they had warfare, terror, murder, and bloodshed, but they produced Michelangelo, Leonardo da Vinci, and the Renaissance. In Switzerland they had brotherly love - they had 500 years of democracy and peace, and what did that produce? The cuckoo clock.

well, Double Edged Sword already written "Fallen"... and got raving reviews
I don't know man, I've enough of the contest. I am quite spent on ideas (heck, I wrote 7 fanfics in one go and given 2 ideas to Double Edged Sword AND co-authored 'Fallen'), but when I have an interesting idea that is compatible with your age (some plots do require a mature mind, after all), I'll give it to you.
And oh yes - your story "Friends- life of a stalker" probably will be posted in the next 3 weeks. I've just got the confirmation from GSC.

let me ask you something amoki, what book do you like the most. Or what book would you like your writing to be like.

Books? Well, I don't really read a lot these days. I don't really model myself after any author too, I stick to what I can do myself.
But you should ask Grisly Silence or Ian_C (if you are lucky), these two really write better than me

There's a couple of authors I really like, but I don't really try to write like they do (though I used to, to rather disastrous results). Now I just read a lot of their books and sort of use them as tips on how to write things. I'll look at their plotlines and characters and dialogue and action, how they describe things, etc. And I'll try to take that as advice and see if I can use it to write better. I use the books sort of as a springboard to further my own ideas and style. But the authors I use the most would be Terry Goodkind (Fantasy), Timothy Zahn (Sci-Fi), and HP Lovecraft (1930s horror).
But that's not to say that I only read their books. That would probably keep me in a kind of creative rut, taking examples from the same books over and over and over, and start to write more like that, and just writing the same stuff over and over and over. I also like to delve into the hardcore Sci-Fi; stuff by Stephen Baxter for example (really crazy, physics-heavy reading). I also read (in no particular order), Terry Brooks (fantasy), Michael A. Stackpole (Sci-Fi), Louis L'amour (western), Alan Dean Foster (a dash of everything) and a few others. I'll also take a look at anything that catches my eye.
Diversity is the best. I like to look at a bunch of different styles, see all the perspectives, see the same sorts of scenes written in a different style, with a different mindset, and turning out completely different than I thought it might.
That was a really long-winded way of saying I pretty much just read a lot of authors.
