Hello, use 'audacity' program (free) or SAVandT by NatVac you can
find here: http://www.metacognix.com/files/stlkrsoc/

When you say change, what do you mean? Do you have an existing audio sample that you want to replace the vanilla gun audio/footstep audio with? Or do you want to make new audio from scratch yourself?

For vanilla soc, all audio has to be a .ogg file, 44.1khz, 1 channel (mono). You can use Audacity or dbPowerAmp to convert any file (wav, mp3, etc) to this specification.

Then, you should use SAVandT posted above to add what is called an "ogg comment" to your audio files. All audio files need to be commented to work properly. Basically, the comment contains information for the AI to tell it how to react to the sound, how loud the sound is, and how far away you can hear it from. It is an important step.

As for actually replacing existing sounds, you just need to find the vanilla sound in the gamedata\ folder and replace it with your new one. If you haven't unpacked your .db files already, I recommend that you do.
