Lost story!

Greetings, esteemed colleagues in literature! (my first post, might as well pull all the stops from square one, right?)
I read about this contest a few weeks after its introduction, became very excited and cobbled together a 16-17 page number entitled "A mind of its own" which i promptly sent to the "powers that be". I received a proper confirmation E-mail, rejoiced...and waited.
And waited...And waited.
After two weeks I sent another mail. Sure, the reply came back (I can unfortunately not find the correspondence as my hotmail box has been wiped clean twice since this date), we're going to post it, don't worry.
After a month or so I forgot all about it and only visited the page a few days ago.
Not to ruffle any feathers...But the damn thing still isn't there!
If I've screwed something up with the delivery of the file, if I used any foul language that wasn't appropriate or if the damned thing was so bad as to warrant its removal from the contest, so be it. No problem, I can take that.
But I'd still be very interested in knowing exactly what happened to the story.
Thank you for your time, people. I will write something more for your amusement, if you'd like

Welcome to the forum

As for GSC's literature administration.. just think of their service (posting the stories up) as the worst technical support you ever had the displeasure of working with. I sent my story back in December 2003 and it only got posted in June of next year. They are a very slow progress.

But ask the admin here, amoki to see what he can do about it. Meantime, if you have your story in txt or doc format.. why dont you just copy and paste it here so we can read it in the forum.

Be ready for your story to be raked by critism if amoki or some other harsh critic gets into it first, but if you are happy to post it in the forum.. ill tell you what I think of it.

Hello... UFO. I am amoki, the moderator. A few months ago, GSC did realise that there were "lost" stories out there, and a search was called on. Most of the works are sent to me, reedited by me, and sent to GSC. Most of them went on.

Tough luck, looks like you didn't think too much of this situation until it is too late...

However, there is still a last pool of unpost stories, which I am currently taking advantage of. If you want, you can post the story here. If it is worthy of being posted, then I'll make damn sure if get posted.

Chan: Be ready for your story to be raked by critism if amoki or some other harsh critic gets into it first... well, "Blue bird" was raked by me, Geneva isn't. Next time, watch it. Stories that has potential to be raked will be raked because they are deserved to be raked (although I do remember to include good stuff include by the authors), but good stories will deserve all the good praises from me. You are making me sound like those 'critics' out there who are without an identity, and making full use of their anonimity to cook up some illogical comments. On the other hand, I am here, a being with an identity and contactable. I don't nuke any story for no reason at the moment.

Also, Chan, pity those folks at GSC. Most of them who are not involved in programming hold two titles at once. Anton is pretty much busy with his work too.

Okay kid, listen up- GSC initially didn't want to get your story posted, but let just say the person in charge changed his mind on the last minute based on some circumstances. Just send me your work and get it over with. You have until 1/10/2004 to do so if you want your story included in the contest. I believe I have sent you an email.

If you are late, there is no exception.

Exactly as i meant, if this is your first stalker story, get ready for POTENTIAL critism from the critics here.

I hope that '2005' is a typo, or you have no faith in the Stalker release date

Gah...I popped in, read the "1st of october deadline"...And panicked.
I realized this morning that the drive containing the above mentioned story burned a few months back. Sat all day in the truck, trying to remember most of it and spent five hours just now staring at black-on-white rewriting whatever I could out of memory. Quite a mutated beast it became. Now I read 2nd...Just cracks me up
Well, it'll have to stand on its own now...Not my best, but a good practice in speed writing
