Oh Well, End of Obsidian

I originally intended to write both a prequel and a possible sequel to my Obsidian series, but have arrived at the conclusion that I'm about burned out on Stalker FanFic writing. Just don't have it in me. I want to, but...I just can't. I had a pretty intriguing plot, and some interesting characters in it.

Oh well.

If anybody wants to hear what I intended for the prequel (which I do have a bit of info on), you can ask, and I'll post it so you will know how it all started, but I'm not going to go and compile all of that info unless at least 1 person wants it.

But this may not be the complete end of Obsidian...It depends upon how moddable the X-Ray Engine is. I think it might be interesting to basically use that engine and script the story with it, basically make a movie that you can watch. Maybe.

I figured this part of the forum needed something to post about, so I thought this might warrant a reply or to, keep the dust from settling.

The dust never sets in the forum, the forum is just silent, awaiting life to come to it...

I don;t know about the others, but part of beating burnouts for me is to write down the idea as soon as possible. Maybe that's the secret why I can write soooooooo much thingys without feeling tired, but that may also explain why sometimes my works look rushed.

From my point of view, your are subconsciously bored of Obsidian. Don;t get me wrong- not that you hate it. But it has been so long since Obsidian was out, that all the time between then and now passed without anything done to Obsidian. By the time you want to write, you have the plot in your mind, yet you just don't feel like writing it down. Trust me, I know how that feels. When I want to finish "My STALKER memoir finale", the fantasy-genre that I started with, I just felt so bored, that I decide to start with "Fallen." (Oopss )

And you are not the only one. I guess Ian_C used to let the dust settle down when he finished The difference Part 1 and 2, but there was this bugger who keeps tormenting him day and night until he shout "All right, all right, stop bothering me, I'll get it done within half a year."

But trust me - once you got a fresh idea and you try to get it down as soon as possible, you're going to find changes that you never felt before.

As for me, 7 fanfics is enough for the moment I think I spent too much energy on writing "for fun" Or is it?

Oh yeah, Grisly, see if you can hang in there for another 3 weeks. I have some surprise coming up
