Location of campfire music?

Hi everyone. As the title already hints at, I have not been able to find the according files. I'm using the Complete-Mod 1.4.4. with my own changes on top of it. I mostly just edited .ltx- and xml.-files, as well as some weapon-sounds, so they should not have affected anything. I'm used to all the additional campfire-music Complete offers and that's the reason why I'm trying to extract and reuse them for non-Complete-playthroughs. I have not found this part of the mod separately and I'm pretty sure it only exists as part of the Complete-Mod.

I would be grateful, if anybody could help me with this.

I only know about "More Campfire Music" for CoP, maybe it will work for SoC. Not sure

Thanks, but I already knew about that. I believe they were songs already in the game (CoP), but somehow not enabled. Sure, I can at least try.

gamedata\sounds\characters_voice\Human_01 (and also Human_02, Human_03) \(name of a faction)\music. Each faction has a music folder of its own, and Loners even two - there's a separate folder for Rookies. To add more campfire tunes simply place a new (NB!) properly commented .ogg sound files into "music" folder of the faction that you want to play this tune and name it as an example "guitar_16" or "harmonica_16" or whatever number you want to use. Just remember to use a number that is bigger, than the ones already used by Vanilla music files, otherwise you'll replace some Vanilla tunes, and they are pretty nice. No .ltx/.xml editing is needed at all, game will just randomly pick any properly named .ogg file from the music folder and play it.
Same can be done with the campfire jokes, btw. In my own game I also added most of the campfire anecdotes from CS and CoP, and made things a bit less monotonous this way.

For what it's worth, it appears that the characters_voice angle doesn't actually have many, if any, references in the game files.

script_sound.ltx points to music\guitar_ as the path for the "guitar_rnd" scripted sound.

So it's much more likely that the guitar music is literally just music\guitar_01.ogg etc.

Thanks Weidrik. I guess I should have just searched more thouroughly. Also good to be reminded of CS and CoP. I haven't played both of them a lot in comparison to SoC, so I didn't even notice.

By the way, what does NB mean?

I have checked the files. Interestingly the Mercs don't have a folder, but the military does. Odd.

Actually, the character_voice\human_ folder are called from the NPC profiles (01 is for characters with visible faces, 02 is for characters that have their mouths covered, and 03 is for characters that have masks).

And each human profile has music defined by faction.

So in theory you can achieve a lot of variety if you take all the factors into account.

What I wonder is if you can make the profiles read all from the same location (that way you can make a lightweight harmonica minimod).

Proper .ogg commenting is a thing that many mods unfortunately still lack. It should'nt be an issue if you're adding music only from Complete mod, comments are OK there, but in case if you'll hunt for even more stuff from other mods, make sure that comments are well made. Otherwise it might happen that you can hear NPC-s singing from hundred meters away - or barely hear them while standing two steps away from them. You can use SAVandT made by NatVac to fix the bad .ogg comments. It's a really useful little program and easy to use. Basically all that needs to be done is to copy the comments from the working file and paste them to the problematic one, klick "apply" and you're good to go.
