Night's darkness

Dear Stalkers,

In the 1.0013 patch, the night were pitch black. It was difficult and stressful

Now, with the same settings, night looks like the vanilla Stalker ones: slighly dark at best, I can go outside without a torch nor nightvision. Is there a setting I'm missing?
Turning the gama to 0 breaks the balance with daytime.

See you!

Hmm, you mean with 1.3002? Did you remove user.ltx (all your appdata directory for that matter) before starting a new game with 1.3002?

On my system, nights are really dark. But it's true that the evenings seem to have a lot more light, so until it gets to around 22:00 ingame I have no need to find a shelter. Then it suddenly starts to get really dark (and the nightvision doesn't help that much once it gets dark, it does help a lot in the evening tho). Maybe you had the moon out when it was light at night?

Nights aren't dark for me in this patch or the other patch. I am using an lcd back-lit monitor and the objects dynamic lighting render setting in the game if that matters. Obilivion lost nights aren't dark for me either.

I tried the "delete user.ltx" solution: it didn't worked.

I'll try to keep my save on a separate folder, make a complete uninstall of Lost Alpha, and reinstall it all over again...

Why don't you adjust brightness in the game or in the settings on your monitor (the physical monitor)?

He said : "Turning the gama to 0 breaks the balance with daytime." Modifying contrast or brightness will do the same.

its not help.

so I using personally gamma, contrast, brightness standart but tweaks:

r2_sun_lumscale 1.
r2_sun_lumscale_amb 2. (I find from 1.5 - to 2. optimal for me)
r2_sun_lumscale_hemi 1.

On the monitor? It can be more finely adjusted on the monitor than in the game.
Alternative is adjusting it in user.ltx in increments of 0.01 but touching those sliders in the ingame menu will reset them to the fixed increment of 0.5 which I find is too much. Maybe write protecting user.ltx afterwards will fix the slider-resetting.
