Walkthrough question: Dark Valley get documents from bandits for Sin
I'm at the point in game where you have to get some documents for the Sin faction. They're located in the bandits base in dark Valley, in a safe protected by a combination, there's also a side mission linked, to free a Duty member held hostage by the bandits. What I'd like to know is if there's a pacifist way of completing the mission, without wiping out the entire base. You get the safe combination after killing the bandits boss, I found out, is there an alternative way? |

There is an easier way.
Just talk to the boss, he will question you what would you do. Chose the last answer. After that he will give you the code. Just be careful because whole base become mad at you after taking the docs. Its good to close the door after he leaves. |

Thanks, I though all three answers would be considered wrong by the boss so I stopped taking the "test" after the second fail, lol. I guess I'll have to fight the bandits anyways if I decide to free the Dutier. I was hoping I would be able to sneak into the base, wearing a bandit jacket of course, for the rest of the game, to do some trading when burdened with loot, but I guess that won't be possible. |

You don't need to fight and kill all the bandits to free the Duty prisoner and/or get the code. Answer the right question to Borov, take the documents, you'll likely have to kill him and his guard just outside (although, if after you take the documents you sneak just behind the door to his room, on the left, he doesn't see you when he enters and then he just looks away from you, towards the safe, however, the guard outside surely will see you when you exit his room as he's watching the door). Then just run/sneak out of the building. I was able to run out of the building after getting the documents after only killing maybe 3 bandits (including Borov and his guard).
To free the Duty prisoner is even simpler, AFAIK the only bandit you _have_ to kill is the one posted just outside the entrance to the basement where he is being held. You can just sneak in, nobody else noticing you. Of course, you do have to get the key to his cell, that key is in front of the Bandit trader posted near the radio, in order to not have to kill him and others you should get the key before the bandits turn enemies (ie before you take the documents from the safe).
Of course, I'm assuming you use strictly silenced weapons for all kills, otherwise the whole base becomes aware of you and will try to surround you forcing you to defend yourself by taking them down.
That said, killing the bandits gives you some good loot, especially some unique bandits have high level artifacts/unique weapons. So I wouldn't feel too bad about it. After all they chose the life they have now while being well aware of the risks. While not all of them are murderers and rapists, I bet most of those more experienced are. As for the rest... life, err, the Zone is a bitch.
