Cars in Countryside

I started with the Moskovich and drove until the blowout started then quickly stopped (in the road before the tunnel) and ran for cover in the houses south of the tunnel.

Sadly the game is 'fixed' and you lose consciousness and wake up in the Scientists camp. Then you get told you have to go all the way back across Countryside (which is one huge and boring map btw) and you cannot grab the jeep near the military because its off the road and they open fire if you leave the road.

So I walked back to my nicely parked car half way across the map and it's bugged - its undamaged and has a nearly full tank but wont budge an inch.

So please add more cars to make this map easier to traverse or fix the existing ones. I SHOULD have been able to take cover and wait out the psi-storm (as I tried to do) then drive on and park at the military checkpoint. I should then have been able to meet the scientists and buy fuel for the return trip.

Regarding the car that will not move. I reported that for LA 1.30013. I had it with both cars. I don't know if it was overlooked or it's somewhere in the list of bugs needing getting fixed. The cars that will not move are not game breakers, just very inconvenient for those who like to drive around.

Regarding the part getting saved by the scientists, that is part of the story. The problem in 1.3002 is that before that patch, there were too few places in Countryside where one could seek shelter during a blowout. On about half that map you didn't stand a chance to survive unless maybe you had your pockets filled with X-Virus antidote.

SPOILER ALERT

So, there is a drivable car and the grunts shoot at you if you leave the road and you have a nice knife. If you don't mind them shooting back, simply start a fight. I had to kill them in patch 1.30013 as I got a little too close to the edge of the road. Didn't experience anything bad with the military after that but now I didn't get farther than Pripyat Outskirts.

I didn't want to start a fight with the military for fear of messing anything up further on (think Sin in Cordon) and now that I have a scrap of paper Im glad I didnt.

(you either know what I mean or dont - I dont want to spoil anything for anyone).

So Im having to hike all over Countryside and its bloody tedious - just like going back and forth across Swamp/Dead City/Warehouses because you talk to one guy and he sends you to another who sends you back to the first guy ..... zzzzzz

Ahh, had forgotten about that as I only did the main quest back then. Then do that first and 'fix' those grunts afterwards.

If you grab the jeep then you break the military's rule and they open fire - this can break a side quest.

As for forest - after meeting Veles for the first time - I exit the mines to the South and grab the Moskovich on the road and drive back to Dark Valley.

I grab the fuel cans in the Monolith base where I found the first white car (the one with the faulty boot) and from there I can drive South to Veles and back North through the Forest to the Bar. Beware the road through the Forest - you have to go off road sometimes.

Something must have been tightened up in the new patch in Countryside. After the blowout and first meeting with Deedee I went back to Countryside and the military didn't bat an eyelid when I went and got the 'jeep' parked on the grass beside the road. That was pre-new patch.

I did that in all three games I played. No problem from the military. It might depend on your standing with them in the faction relations.

oh, when i 1st figured out that jeep was drivable i all ready had the mission in this area done or what ever they these military maybe included in. and beside they no longer are there for me as well, since they meet with a untimely death

for being very rusty it still work really good just keep gas cans around for it so it makes for a fast and easy travel through there for me. which is nice cause it give me a break from the constant running and my stock pile of energy drink from getting lower then normal
