Could it be fixed so that they don't look oval, i have a wide screen and the resolution is 1680x1050. My scopes looks oval from side to side not up and down as in the pic posted earlier, and i have a sugestion...is it possible to make the surrounding area around the scope blurred? that would make it perfect.
---END QUOTATION---

The wide screen scope pack should work for you. I would have to check youre exact resolution. If it's slightly different from the wide screen aspect ratio I made then you might have some ovalness.
As for blurrines. If you mean the outside edges of the scopes themselves then yes I am going to make them more blury in my next release. If you mean what you see outide the scope then that isn't as easy. I have been trying to think of a way but it might require some scripting which I am not very good at.

Is it possible to make the area around the scope itself blurry abit? This way you eyes are technically focused on the viewing lens.

Gnomus great work I like your scopes!!!

Yes the area outside the scope (view around the scope) is what i was referring to, i hope you find a way

For the ovalness so isn't it just a tidy bit it's a lot, but i will check it out again and make a screen shot.

You are using the fullscreen scope on a widescreen monitor so the game stretches to fit so you get the oval scope. Download the widescreen scope pack and your problem will be fixed. Note the PSOP reticle in the widescreen pack is red as per some of the newest Russian scopes.

lol I didn't check all the post... Hehee I just looked at Gnomus's scopes and tried the out with OL. The only thing I added was DDS files. His scopes look realistic. I didn't add the Itx files they conflict with OL. I'm also using the widescreen.

Update:
Gnomus I've been trying to tweak my w_abakab.itx and w_ak74.itx to accept your wpn_crosshair.dds file.

I keep getting CTDs so I know I'm doing something wrong. I tried mimicing your other itx files in hopes that could work but it doesn't.

What lines do I have to change if I'm on the right page?

abakan.itx,

;addons
scope_status = 2 ; 0 - no addon
silencer_status = 2 ; 1 - permanent
grenade_launcher_status = 2 ; 2 - attachable

zoom_enabled = true ; (on,off)zoom mode (right mouse button)
scope_zoom_factor = 90 ; fov for zoom mode

scope_name = wpn_addon_scope ; section name for the attachable scope
scope_x = 47 ; offset in inventory icon
scope_y = 0

Ak74 is similar so I won't post it.

I appreciate any help you can offer.

Thanks,

WH.

Those ltx's don't seem to have the custom line
eg: scope_texture = wpnwpn_crosshair_fn2000

and so the games seems to default them to the wpn_crosshair.dds.

You can try adding that line with the texture you want to use to get it to try and use a custom texture. Though you may have to do into the weapon.ltx file to change a setting there. But note that it will then change any weapon that uses that texture since they are all referencing that texture. Easier to just rename the texture you want to use to wpn_crosshair.dds

Note some mods use scripts that change the way the game refers to some of these files so they may end up not working correctly. Not sure what OL mod is doing these days but the scopes seemed to work fine in previous editions.
