Stalker Online

Hi all

I have seen a few suggestions regarding coop play in Stalker. I feel this would be a fantastic idea. With WoW it was such a pain. For example If you ever had to raid an instance you would need to have a correct group. But if Stalker was to have a simalar approch then you wouldnt need to worry about classes. Instead all you would need is the correct equipment. For example, who has ever had this trouble? (question aimed to the WoW players)

WoW
4.[LookingforGroup] [someguy]: Looking for healer to SM to complete group!

(..................tumble weed..................)

now imagin if Stalker did this.

Stalker
[Merc's channel] [someguy]:I need a sniper to help take out the mutants in the Valley, and another to cover my back!

An intresting approach? Also, say you wanted to raid an old factory. Inside its all dark and gloomey. So before you enter you will need to buy a torch, or nightvision goggles. Otherwise your gonna stumble about in the dark into the jaws of a rather unplesent mutant Or you would need heat sencor goggles to help spot the more hard-to-see mutants that use camaflouge to hide themselves.

With each mission or job you would need the right tools to help acomplish your job. Another example: you need to defend an old millirty warehouse you just taken. But the bandits got word and want a slice of the loot, now you need to defend against the bandits attack with a few stratigicly placed players. A sniper on the roof to spot and shoot the invaders. A heavey gunner at the main entrance to take out the mass onslaught of bandits. Someone else to place some stragic mines or trip wires in doorways likely to be bashed in. And the rest of the crew to let rip with sub machine guns when they get too close.

Thats all I can think of atm. I admit its a little bit like WoW in first person shooter, but without the DPS, class and Agro to worry about. The main idea of all of this was to make missions and jobs more accesible to all players. Let me know what you think.

And my thanks to all those who made Stalker possible

Edit: Sorry I should of posted this in Multiplayer improvments section. My appoligies

Stalker as an MMO? Wouldn't be stalker then, hehe..
Stalker with CoOp? **** yes.

Sure, I'd love to see a post nuclear MMO. But it would be way too much to ask GSC to make Stalker into an MMO I'd say.

Check out Huxley for a decent looking FPSMMO bwt.

heh yeah thinking aboot it now, it would be an insane ammount of work involved. I've been playing nothing but WoW for months. (infact I think its been well over a year!). I stoped as it was too involving and way too time consuming to get anywhere.

Gonna check out Huxley. Sounds intresting
