Is it true S.T.A.L.K.E.R. support dual core processor?

Hi, I'm new to this forum.
As i read the ReadMe, is state that "S.T.A.L.K.E.R.: Shadow of Chernobyl should utilize your dual and quad core processor natively and automatically."
But is not happening on my machine even through I'm have patched KB896256 form Microsoft. :

My machine spec as below:
E6600
Abit AB9 Pro
Corsair 1GB DDR2
XFX 7600GT

Can anyone help me out on this?

Patch 3 that is due in the future, is supposed to fix/add Dual/quad core enhancements?? I dont know if thats true, but thats the word anyways. I hope it is true. They say 10-15% performance increase after that patch.

yeah doesnt work for me either by default... I alt-tab out of the game and go to my task manager, then find teh XR_3DA.exe file and change the affinity from CPU 0 and CPU 1 to just CPU 0, then I go back and set it back to both CPU's... I don't have to go back into the game and back out. After this is done, the game uses both cores... although not very much, each at like 10-30%.
