Yeah, it really sucks to find a stash in a hard to reach-dangerous place and find it empty, only to later find a PDA pointing to the same place and having to go back again.

In a way it makes sense, as people will be constantly storing and taking stuff from stashes, so not every stash you find will be used at the moment (It's a good thing there's no stealing in this game because anyone who found my stash would be quite happy).

I think the best compromise would be to have a random factor that determines whether or not that stash you just found will have anything in it (assuming you don't have a PDA marker for it already, in which case it will always have something)

Also, PDA markers from dead bodies should be a lot less common-You get so many right now from all the battles that there is almost no need to explore for them.

I was having a lot of fun looking for stashes in hard to reach places until I realized that they would be empty until I found a PDA for it. Then the thrill of exploration was basically dead.

Add to that the fact that the stuff you find in the stashes are pretty useless (or not worth my time at least). I wish the in-game economy worked better where money had value, then perhaps you could find money in the stashes.

As someone mentioned in another thread, items you pick up from corpses (like guns) could have less than 50% 'health' left on them, causing an increased demand for 100% health weapons from traders, thus giving you a need to search for stashes to earn money to buy quality weapons!

I'm sure it will be an easy enough thing to mod after the SDK is released.

I get really irritated by the empty stashes. You feel kind of smug that you managed to find this hidden container that someone obviously took some trouble to hide, then find it empty. I'm not certain, but if you look in one before you get the corresponding PDA and look again, do they even get filled at all? Possibly this is fixed by the patch, I'm still on v1.0 presently.

I'd like to see all stashed filled by default, and if you find one that isn't already marked, I'd like to see a sort of reverse PDA effect, whereby you get some info on things a person is carrying or where they are, so that if you went and killed them or looted their body, or traded with them, they'd have the items described, or if you went to where their stash said they'd be, they'd always show up on the minimap even if they were enemies.

Also, I'd love to see slightly fewer stashes that are hidden in a bush behind six anomalies and contain chickenfeed like a bottle of vodka and a Jellyfish artifact, compared with boxes that are the only thing in the room and have a pristine G36 and 240 AP rounds. The more difficult it is to find and/or get to a stash, surely it should have better stuff in?

IMHO this would make the game even easier than it already is, you get so much stuff off of dead bodies already, that having every stash contain something would be too much. I think it would be best if it was just random whether or not the stash you find has something in it or not as not every stash is going to be used by someone at the moment.
 
Each word should be at least 3 characters long.
