character improvements

I'd really like to see ability to improve character through experience... as is the ranking system is pretty useless, you kill lots of guys, but so what? Have a leveling system with choice of upgrading character stats. No need to make it overly complicated.

Also, I'd like to be able to organize the backback... like having all bullets rowed at bottom, as is it gets very messy and hard to see what's where.

others have said this, but I repeat as I think it's very important: remove or vastly reduce re-spawn rates... seriously.. it's ridiculous!
Also I concur with others on silent kills, what's the point of having a silencer or knife when everyone rushes you when you use it anyways??

More variety and improvements on equipment would also be great.

Thanks guys. Good game.

Oh god, please not another Kill-for-exp-to-become-Hulk-gamestyle! Stalker has absolut no need for an exp-system as it is...

The experience in STALKER is yours experience . The more you play the better you are , after some tough battles with the enemy you will learn how to stay alive in the zone. When the stats are showing that you are an expert that shows that you have fought many enemies and you know now how to hide, where to aim, where to seek cover.YOU are getting experienced not your character .

I agree, I used to die so many times when I first started. I was unable to shoot properly and aim using the AK-47.

Now I can kill things using my knife and pistol lol. Lets not mention the TR301 sniper version with grenade launcher (best weapon IMO lol).

I agree with Conscript19, You'd be amazed how well your actual skill improves if you keep practising. Relying on the game to compensate with higher states is a bit of a cop-out in a shooter.

I remember Playing 'Return to Wolfenstain' on Normal. by the time i was in the final levels, i was doing headshots in short bursts like it was second nature. replayed in the same difficulty and found the bits i had trouble with before were easy to pass.

and unlike your Oblivion character's 76 skillpoints in blades, you can take that experience everywhere!

fair enough, playing the game more makes me see there's no need for character improvements, but item repair and improvements would be a nice touch. Also, one thing making it boring for me now is long distances to travel... I'm all for instant travels to a few main spots, for those who think it would reduce realism or make game not as fun just remember you don't have to use the feature if you don't like it but it's good to be there for us lazy guys.

Just an idea:

How would it be if you get 4 o 5 times in the game between (for example)

_ increased accuracy 1%
_ ability to repair guns
_ ability to repair armor
_ faster gun reload 10%
_ increased damage 1%
_ more luggage (5kg)
_ more endurance 5%
_ lucky chap = 10% less chances to get gun jammed

In the sale spirit than the perks in Fallout... (don't kill me !)

So, it would not be a typical xp = enormous increase of fighting abilities, but more like beeing "experienced in the Zone".

VoilĂ .

Accuracy should only be determined by whatever weapon you're using and your own skill level. Same with damage and reloading (knowing when to reload is crucial).

Weapon and Armor repair skill are alright, but I think it would make more sense to have to pay someone else to do it for you. Repairing armor and weapons should also cost more than buying a new one, but for the unique weapons it would be worth it.

Stalker really doesn't need a experience system.
