A compiled list of suggestions!

Browsing around these forums and other S.T.A.L.K.E.R. forums out there, I decided to compile a list of suggestions I've found so far.

Please feel free to contribute, but if you do have a suggestion not on this list, try to make it easily identifiable by separating it from the rest of your post with numbering or bullets.

Suggestions, in no particular order:
1) Proper mouse support

2) More realistic/smoother crouching

3) Weapon/armor repair

4) Armor modification (adding Kevlar plates, webbing for easy grenade access etc)

5) More weapon modification (extended magazines, laser guidance, duct tape!)

6) Weapon maintenance – cleaning, field stripping

7) Clip based ammunition system - either collecting clips both full and partially used from corpses or buying/collecting magazines and refilling them with bullets bought from a trader.

8) Mod variations (different types of scopes etc)

9) Vehicles (perhaps in bad repair, barely useful but still useful)

10) More interaction with other Stalkers – enlisting, giving weapons, aggravating them via speech

11) Removal of redundant animations such as chambering a round when its already been done

12) Co-op gameplay

13) More traders

14) Silent kills (remove knife redundancy)

15) Flashlight upgrades

16) Make entire map explorable

17) Option to toggle headbob

18) Bandages should only stop bleeding

19) Food should not heal

20) Different skins for your arms when wearing different suits

21) Females in the game

22) Make campfires yourself – keep away animals, attract Stalkers (great trap!)

23) Improving inventory/trade screens – Can’t easily see which weapon you have equipped.

24) Ability to go prone

25) Dynamic economy/loot system. Stalkers looting a body, selling at trader.

26) Improve iron sight visibility

27) Independent pieces of armor for each limb/torso/head rather than a whole suit.

28) Stashes/marked positions on map change icon once visited.

29) More mission variety – in addition to recover/kill have sabotage, recon, stealth missions

30) Subtitles for speech

31) Adjustment of flashlight beam

32) Trap setting (mines, tripwires etc)

33) Random artifact properties

34) Extended gore option – dismembering, exploding heads

35) Inventory system by size as well as weight – strap for carrying rifle, holster for pistol, backpack for anything else that FITS.

36) AI Stalkers with inventories, weight limits and ability to loot.

37) Other competitive events – hunting, survival race, gambling on mutant dog fights etc

38) AI Stalker relationships – kill one, his friend will hunt you/put a contract on you.

39) Anomalies rarer but less visible

40) Set up camps/strongholds/create your own stash.

41) Tree climbing

42) Wearing a faction suit makes people think you are a friendly, unless spoken to. (Password system for faction friendly identifaction, changing daily, spread by PDA?)

43) Adjust iron sights/crosshairs so people rely on iron sights more than crosshairs - currently, just a matter of hovering crosshair over target until crosshair turns red, then firing

44) Change medkit system - one standard medkit will contain an 5 adrenaline boosters, 5 bandages. During combat, adrenaline booster can be used to "heal" temporarily but bleeding will continue. Once combat is finished, bandages can be applied to stop bleeding but take 5 seconds (or so) without interruption.

45) Limited ammunition for AI human combatants

46) Eliminate respawning - additional NPCs should enter the area via the boundaries.

47) Remove anomalies detector

48) Faster repositioning of anomalies

49) Balance economy - too much money too quickly reduces the impact of optional missions.

50) Rarer artifacts

51) Raise the cost and increase the rarity of food

52) Less humans, more mutants - less humans, but smarter, better equipped harder to kill and generally more fearsome. No sissies in the Zone!

53) Enable sleeping at certain places such as campfires, bases - but at your own risk!

54) Effective grenade usage by enemies (might cause a spam problem and be generally frustrating, though)

55) Sneaking in and out of the Zone to access traders who would give better deals, guards patrolling both sides of the fence in the Zone - see Ukraine as it exists outside the Zone in the world of S.T.A.L.K.E.R?

56) Controllers able to turn humans they kill into zombies.

57) Re-addition of removed content/items such as the AK-47

58) More melee weapons/improvised weapons

59) Ability to throw and recover the knife.

60) Anomalies that mutate humans in various ways - one creates a zombie, who then walks into another anomaly giving it a certain ability/new mutation etc.

61) Removal of cinematic camera during crucial gameplay moments (ie. battles). Simply distracting, doesn't add to immersion.

62) Ability to toggle ironsights rather than continuously holding aim button.

63) Better rewards - people get rich pretty quickly as the game currently stands, some nice (perhaps unique) rewards granted via the side quests would be much better than cash.

64) Option to change the number and difficulty of enemies - more easier, less harder, normal

65) Addressbook for the PDA - Call up people in your addressbook using your PDA-Mobile phone and get missions, rather than having to run across several zones to talk to them.

I agree with most of these and i can see these would amke a great expansion where they could fully realise the potential of the ai if they get it as good as they wanted it before.

only thing i didnt quite agree with was this: 52) Less humans, more mutants - less humans, but smarter, better equipped harder to kill and generally more fearsome. No sissies in the Zone!

Part of the appeal of stalker is that the lack of huge numbers of the more powerful mutants stops the game from falling into tedium and keeps the suspence when facing a controller/bloodsucker. Though later on they are easy to kill.
However i do agree that more of the powerful mutants, psedo giant/bloodsucker/controller/poltergeist, should be seen and encountered but not over the top, as for the humans i think they are fine as they are since imo there would be more humans than mutants. Oh there might be a larger amount of the weaker ones like dogs/flesh/boars but they are already in the game in large amounts.

However since ive only encounted bloodsuckers and a single poltergeist outside, i dont count the snorks that much since they are generally quite common in some areas, i wouldnt mind seeing a few more stronger mutants later on.
As an addition, assuming i havnt missed it from your list, i wouldnt mind seeing a lot more emphasis on the controller. Firstly there should be a lot more of them than just 3, i would say they should be as common as the bloodsuckers are outside currently. Also i believe they should have the ability to turn other humans/humanoids into zombies by first using their attacks to kill their victims, like the ones they use on you in the game, and this can be seen as frying their brain so they can be used as a zombie then the person would get back up as a zombie.
I believe this would make the controller much more like many people imagined it and also like it was meant to be anyway judgeing the discription from the official website. The only downside is this probably would be very complex to code.

66) Artifacts and radiation having mutating effects.

67) The weight you are carrying should have a gradually noticeable effect - The more you carry, the slower you run and the more time it takes to do certain actions.

68) The ability to bait mutants using pieces of meat/sausages to lure them towards enemy Stalkers.

Just a note:

I'm leaving stuff out of this list that don't seem very feasible in a game like S.T.A.L.K.E.R. such as akimbo pistols... if anyone disagrees with this stance and wants me to list every single suggestion I find without discrimination, please let me know.

I'm just trying to make it easier for the development team to see what the community would like to see added, and if everyone wants akimbo pistols a la The Matrix, then so be it

P.S. It seems like these boards only let you edit messages a certain number of times. That sucks

REMOVAL OF CINEMATIC CAMERA DURING GAMEPLAY MOMENTS! This has gotten me into sooo much trouble in game. You "miss" the camera trigger when you enter a storyline area (save Mole, save Kruglov, etc.) but hit it later when enemies are shooting you! You are looking a sweep of the area whilst they pummel you! Honestly, just remove it completely. I'd much rather HEAR the fight, slowly move up, and check it for myself and decide what to do. That and Coop. But I say that in almost every forum I enter for most games I've played. Just makes more sense than CTF, DM, or TDM. Yawn.

I agree with this wholeheartedly. It has caused my death twice. Added

i disagree with the suggestion of anomaly's creating mutants as they are supposed to be lethal.

however radiation and artefacts could have a mutating effect

..there is so much shit in this list

tree climbing? WTF
it would look stupid, no one needs it, and it just doesnt fit in the game wtf

that list contains too many things that are principially worthless

things like coop are much more important than "tree climbing" or "flashlight upgrades"
wtf

no one can take this list serious as long as u put such things in it
