What about multiple lives and savegames?

Will the player have multiple lives?

If so, where will he "respawn"?

Otherwise, will the player have the chance to save the game even if he didntcomplete a mission?

sorry if this topic has been already discussed, but i'm new.

ciao,
jack.

If you look around the board, we're going for realism, meaning no multiple "lives" which they did in 1980's arcade games, and there will be no respawning, casue when the hell do people pop out of thin air?

you're right. I'm looking for realism too! otherwise I wouldnt be here in this website...

but i mean, it's not nice that if you die you have to restart the whole game (or mission). But if there are savegames it's ok then.

bye.

How about in MP will there be respawns? Or will you go for realism there 2? Personaly i prefer games were 1 shot kills if aimed right and if your dead you are dead = no respawns.

On a large map with no respawns you may be out of the game for hours, killed by someone on your own team. Don't think people would be too happy with that feature.

Its one of the problems I find in CS, one stupid move, one accedent, one Tk and your left sitting there... and what happens when you have only 2 people left, running around opposite ends of the map? You can be stuck there for five or ten minutes with ease, which is very boring.

I think though it should be up to the dev team, though my progect is on the back burner now I need to look for another job and am still waiting for the release of information on the mod tools and the tool themselves I have always planed a instent respawn system with other penalties for death then being forced to wait.

whenever you die, you should be sent to "time out" room that is included in every level. You stay in the "time out" room until the round restarts. The timeout room contains a few screens of different parts of the map in real time, a sofa, a billiard table, a soccerball with 2 goals, and a chess board wiht peaces. People who die just go there and hang out.

I love BF 1942's ticket system, not sure how that would apply to Stalker.

The mini-game wait area sounds kind of cool.
