A Mosin-Nagant would make a perfict example of a bolt action rifle... Some others could easily be implemented for reliability ofcourse but this old milatary weapon, I bet, is still the most common through the Russian area.

Hell that was just one page but how I decide if a gun should be in the game, remembering I want as many as possable. Don't know how the dev team will do it but this is how I do it:

Location location location...

The biggest one, if its Russian it should already be in the game, and most likely common. If its USA it has less chance of being in the game due to distance away from the zone.

Avaliability...

Can't have a gun that only 100 where made and sold to top of the line government teams. Its just not beleave able that even 1 would be in a povity stricken area like russia let alone in the hands of an illigal stalker going through the zone. If the gun, on the other hand, can be baught for civilan use then yes it should have higher chance of being in the zone.

Cost...

No one is going to go through the trouble of lifting and selling, to the ZONE no less, a gun that costs millions. This is a large faction not only on how much the gun should cost when in but even why it shouldn't be in if its to high a cost. Many stalkers go for guns which will be cheaper and yet do the same thing.

Thats pritty much it, there are other things which can come into play but they usualy are under avaliability.... for example that is already in the game is the common gun used for the milatary stalkers. Its not a easy to get gun BUT its in the game becouse its issued to milatary stalkers. Doesn't make it easy to get though. Others could be put in on the same ground if the dev team wants them in... stalkers come from all over the world, some might bring thier own hardware but that doesn't mean they should be found in the dealers on every other day.

Example:
Take the AK47, a perfict example... Its found alot in russia, as cheap as dirt in many places and civilans can get thier hands on it. Hence it should, and is, in the game.

While, much as I hate it, metal storm tech should NOT be in the game. Its an australian based weapon system, thats not even in the hands of the milatary yet and you can bet its not cheap...

I would like to see a Five-seveN and a bolt action rifle of some sort.

Its a Belgium made gun, correct? But it looks to be avilable only to government and law officer use. Meaning it would be alot harder for the common stalker to get thier hands on it. Hence if its in the game, I think it should be very rare to find and probably only in the hands of another stalker even then.

I think its a French gun (i would wright the manufacturers name but I cant spell it its in french) by FN. I guese they could give it to a lower class of soldiers or to some kind of colonal.

I think you might be thinking of the FAMAS (Fusil d'Assaut de la Manufacture d'Armes de St- Etienne) (Assault Rifle of St-Etienne Arms Manufacturing). It is by GIAT industries. It is actually an excellent and accurate weapon with an insanely fast cyclic rate. It is a rifle but it is the only gun with a distinctly french name I can think of.

Also, most weapons by Frabrique Nationale (excluding the ones that are done in collabouration with browning) have french names because they are made in belgium and dominant language there is french... all of their pistols seem to have an english name/browning collabouration.

So is the FAMAS the thing you were talking about or is it something different?

The Mosin-Nagant is the prefict bolt action rifle that could be in the game, I beleave. Its old to start with but most bolt actions are. Its russian make and probably found in the hands of any farmer over there and was used by the milatary for a while there too. Hell it can even be modified and fitted with a scope and be suprisingly accurate.... over all its got to be the weapon of choice for the starting stalker wanting a rifle as soon as possable.

My page still says the Five-SeveN is designed by the Belgium FM company and though I like this handgun myself its still only available from FN for government or law enforcement, making it a less then likely choice for a black market. The P90 is from Belgium also and seeing the gun is considered the perfict side arm for this submachine gun...

I was sort of confused by the french name thing. I thought you meant the weapon itself, not the manufacturer.

I was thinking and i realized that a Crossbow wouldent be a bad addition, cause its silent and quite accurate.
