Actualy nick, I don't think I will be to disapointed... even if they ignore the realistic weapon thingy. I will keep looking forward to a game which does realistic weapons and all that but if they don't I'll just sigh, shake my head and then play it... I have to every other game that came out.

I just don't see why it should be that hard myself. I mean we have this 30 KM square world which is well over large enough to see effects like bullet drop and so. Gravity wells will already be in and the general gravity is already there. Why not then have bullets effected by gravity? Even win could be simulated in these games and would be a nice thing but I'm not even pushing for that much details.

I just want my guns to act like they would in life. Realistic sounds, realistic recoil effects, realistic vibration effects. Guns fire striaght so I expect guns in game to do the same, fire where I am pointing them. Weapons sway while on the move and even standing still with breath, inf had it good that you could fight the sway for a short period and it worked well. Bullet drop just makes sniping, becouse bullet drop over 10 meters is next to nothing, even over 100 meters with most rifles would be un-noticable...

It makes the game that much harder, yes, that much more realistic but that much chalanging and shows really good skill when you learn to handle your weapon right. But like I said, I might push hard but I don't expect much becouse in the end it comes down to the dev team and what they want. It would be great if they said "hey that could work" and implimented it but if not it won't stop me playing...

Also, while I understand where you're coming from, keep in mind that too much complexity alienates some players.

The 'run and gun' type players, I know... but they normaly take SMG or auto weapons anyways, and kill from close up that they wouldn't notice that thier bullets are falling 200 meters or so past thier target.

But yeah, people would have to be told to watch for it or they would get fustrated needlessly, definly if they play sniper. But it would seperate the chaft from the real good players... Hell even I can see I will miss alot to start with, get fustrated but in the end become better.

but then some don't want to learn, I know...

Its a good idea, but I'd bet you cash it wont be in stalker, they seem to be taking a more arcade approach.

I can still dream

looking through a scope on a high powered bolt action. Watching as an enemy stalker walks towards me, though he hasn't seen me laying on the hill about half a kilometer away. A small compas with a red number underneath showing me how fast the wind is blowing and what dirrection. Then using the little notches, lining up the shot. A few high for distance, a little to the left to compensate for wind.

Firing, recocking then looking through the scope again in time to see the stalker grab his chest, fall to his knees and one arm then collapse completely. His friend just starting to turn then back towards where I am laying as the delaied sound catches up only in time to see a flash then a second later feel a bullet penitrate into his belly.

Hard... hell yeah... but skill it would show.

Why not just get a firearms certificate, buy a scoped rifle and hit the range on windy, rainy days putting holes in playing cards at 200 yards?

I live in australia, my only links to a weapon range was a bastard of a father and a milatary fire range. Down here your not allowed to even own a semi-automatic rifle, though if I could get around the regulations I could probably get rifle... then comes the next line of problems, I have people I life with who do NOT want a gun in thier house, definly not in the hand of someone like me... I have some mental problems, depression with the disire to inflict pain on myself... Probably for the best I can't buy a firearm.

A ppk, ive recently gotten an airgun replica of it and have grown attatched to it. Itd be a shame ot have gotten used to using it and not see it in-game. I'd also like to see some revolvers, havent seen them in many games.

Its a Belgium made gun, correct? But it looks to be avilable only to government and law officer use. Meaning it would be alot harder for the common stalker to get thier hands on it. Hence if its in the game, I think it should be very rare to find and probably only in the hands of another stalker even then.

A bolt action rifle on the other hand shouldn't be hard to find. Even some good maintained old WW2 rifles would be floating around russia in not so uncommon numbers. Then you got the fact hunting rifles are usualy bolt... there could easily be a dozern different types of bolt action rifles that could resonably make it into the game.

As for the ppk, correct me if I am wrong becouse I am no gun freek and just do quick checks on line. Its german right and old, two pluses on my system as germany isn't far away and older weapons are going to be more spread out. It was also issued during the war to milatary personal, some not all, which means it could be even greater spread through russia seeing germany did fight russia. It says here it was populer with both police forces and civilans, meaning it was easier for normal people to get thier hands on. Overall I think it should be in the game. Not in any huge amounts ofcourse but avialable occationaly, though not once in a blue moon, from the dealer with more then 5 floating around the zone in the hands of stalkers?
