Respawning enemies... are they unlimited? Possible spoilers (very minor stuff)

Hey all, so I got the game... (be prepared for a long post)...

First couple of hours, awesome!

Now I'm in the "Garbage Zone" (Possible minor spoiler).

There these guys waiting for bandits to appear and to ambush them... So they ask for my help, I agree... fun begins.

First wave comes in, we kill them all, no big deal. Now after that there is only one main guy left. I talk to him, get more info, some cash, everything is good.

I go around scavanging for ammo, and all of a sudden I hear more shooting behind me. I turn around, and there is a second wave of Bandits comming. The weird thing is that they are comming from the direction I came from, not from the direction where the first wave of bandits came..

My main guy is lying there, shot, asking for help.

Whenever I "Talk" to him, it doesn't give me an option to give him a medkit ( I have plenty of medkits in my inventroy). I can ask him about himself, about the zone, ask him to tell me something interesting, but no option for a medkit...

Now I fight off the second wave of bandits.. by the time I'm done, more are coming.

Basically I stayed there for a few hours just shooting and shooting and shooting and shooting, and the Bandits just kept on coming and coming.

At the end, my minimap had so many gray dots (dead bodies), that it looked like a starry sky.

I figured It might have been a bug, and the unlimited spawn point has been created. So I run away from that area, and head on to another.

In the same zone, I head towards a large Train Station. I hear a message over the radio, that somebody needs help. I rush over, there are a couple of neutral guys there (inside the train station), and they are fighting against more bandits...

Ok so I join the fight, we kill off everybody, I talk to another main guy, get some cash, some more information, everything is good....

I try to head out of the station, and I can't. There is like a dozen of bandits outside, just running around, shooting at me. AT this point, my ammo is really low (most of the ammo scavanged was for pistol and shotgun, not AK or MP rifles)... I can't fight off all of these guys, and I have a feeling that they will just be respawning over and over again...

So whats the point? Is it a bug, or is the Zone so populated, that if feels more like a shooting gallery. I mean c'mon, this is ridiculous.

I was hoping for a eery, creepy crawl through the zone, avoiding anamalies, fighting off mutated beasts, and occasionally having a fire fight.

It was like that in the very first zone (the beginner zone)... But as soon as I stepped into the next one, where bendits begun to spawn, it has gotten pretty stupid. All I do is kill bandits. I don't even have time or ability to roam around to look for artifacts... All I do is shoot at bandits which are just spawing and spawning and spawning....

well proceed to Agroprom facility.
And you will get an unique chance to eternally shoot not only dozens of bandits - but also never ending waves of soldiers and dogs

I agree; the enormous amount of hostile NPCs is ridiculous.

Indeed, it was a stupid design decision. In most combat areas, I rarely get a chance to loot all the corpses before a new wave comes in... and another, and ANOTHER.
Reinforcements are acceptable, but not so often or so soon. A delay of perhaps 10-20 real time minutes would be acceptable. If you manage to fend off a certain amount of counter offensives, the enemy should simply give up, rather than loose such large amounts of men.

What makes the situation worse is that the enemies seem to have unlimited ammo. I have yet to see someone run out of assault rifle rounds and switch to a pistol.

So it isn't a bug then? I will have to fight off the unlimited waves of enemies?

I do hope they address that in the upcoming patch.

Oh and enemies do run out of bullets, I did have one guy finally switch to pistol when he ran out of ammo for his AK.

Same here. I didn't even have time to unload ammo from scavenged weapons before I was under attack again. Eventually I just ran away because they didn't appear to be stopping anytime soon and I was low on ammo.

This is my only gripe with the game so far.

I experienced the same thing in that situation. What it is though that the game spawns random bandit patrols in the garbage since it's that area's controller. Much like the other places would likely do the same. Anyways, the idea is that once the assault is done squads start to form and out of pure coiencidence seem to converge on that one area. You will find that all the time in the garbage, and probably other places. As a way to show that regardless of what you do, it is mostly insignificant. Such as if you were to go around and kill all the animals in an area, they'd still spawn. So the idea in the garbage is you pick your fights, sneak through and what not. As well, that spot behind the train station is the exit to the military compound you have to and will find bandits there. Don't worry, you kill off those guys and they're gone. And have you also been picking up the weapons and unloading them for ammo?

As I said though, that thus far only appears in the garbage so is an area designed more to keep you on your toes so you can't run through it like you could in Cordon essentially. I've not been through a lot of areas yet but I don't think there is anywhere like Garbage elsewhere. There might be a couple wandering patrols but that's it.

Just like to add my voice. The unlimited spawn is really really anoying. Actually I can deal with unlimited, but i hate the spawn rate. Is 5 mins between firefights to loot and explore is too much to ask for?

(especially since exploration of the zone is at least as much fun to me as combat)

Thanks for information, I'll try to finish off the remaining ones at the train station to continue...

Here is a question, how do you unload weapons for ammo??? I usually just pick up the bullet boxes, and thats it... is there a way to unload a weapon to add whatever is in the clip to my ammo pool?

Just right-click on a weapon in your inventory and select "unload" from the menu.

Yeah, pick the weapon up, then go into your inventory. Right click over the weapon and click unload. Drops out the ammo into your inventory and you can toss the gun. I must admit, I didn't have much ammunition issues in the beginning but then the military units at the bridge were killed off by bandits and my own hand so I had a lot of AK ammo and MP5 ammo. Oh and a possible SPOILER note, when searching one spot for who you're trying to get info on to kill, look EVERYWHERE in the room as there is an item. Don't forget you can break open the cases with your knife, the ones in there contained grenades, medkits and AK ammo for when I did it.

Woland: Actually, thus far it just appears to be the garbage where you encounter so many bandits. So before you ever set out, make sure you have a lot of ammo or light weight so you can just run past a lot of them. Use the foliage to hide you and the trees for cover. After a while the enemies become disinterested and don't pursue you. I must admit, the garbage has quite an excess of combat but once you get past the bar section, you'll have the weapons and ammo to deal with bandits as well as the armour. After a certain point, the bandits become an annoyance and waste of ammo like the mutants/monsters. Though it helps to kill them for the various stashes around, I've found wonderful things like grenade launcher grenades from them or nice artifacts.

Then that particular weapon is empty for whatever reason. I know it happens, that's where I've got most of my emergency ammo in major fire fights. Just keep searching though it might be weapons dropped previously after reloading the game lose all their ammo.

That's exactly what i am doing but i am not really happy about it. Like i said I like exploration... which is hard to do while running away from bandits or trying to sneak past.

Take the abandoned cars place, i am not worried about loot, and i am done with defend mission, so there is nothing i really need there...But I would love to walk around, check out that gunship husk, go inside the bus, etc. While under fire is not the best time to enjoy the sights

Well don't dispair yet. Like seuta said, there seems to be only few of such "hot spots" the rest of the game seems to be different.

Although I am noticing some spots are clearly designated for combat and some for exploration. That is whenever you stop by the farm were you did you 1st quest, 9 out of 10 you going to find some bandits there, and there are plenty spots like that.

And then there are areas full of artifacts and anomalies but chances of having to find someone to fight there are nil.
