NPC Suit Icon

I have a doubt. Is it possible to replace the npc icon using the costume with the ui_icon_equipament icon?

I'm adding several outfits in my modification, but I don't have the appropriate icon to show how Strelok looks with him inside the inventory, his appearance in general. So I wanted to know how I can remove Strelok's preview using costumes by the costume's own icon, just like Call of Pripyat and Clear Sky.

Could someone help me with this?

There is a Helmet and Suit mod for SOC that successfully imitates the CS/COP armor system, that uses UI elements to display armor icons instead of the Strelok icons.

Unfortunately, I doubt the creator even roams around anymore, so you'd have to analyze the code yourself.

The most straightforward way to achieve this, but also the most time consuming, would be to edit ui_icons_npc.dds and replace all of the Strelok visuals with the Armor icons and then add the new ones.

Those strelok visuals are defined in ui_icons_npc.xml. In that file you need to add a new entry that points to the coordinates and size of the armor icon, and give it a unique name. If you work on 50x50 pixel grids just like in ui_icon_equipment, you can fit a lot of armors into that file.

Then when you edit outfit.ltx (or wherever file you defined your new armors) and change the full_icon_name field of all your new armors to match the names of their corresponding visuals.

Thank you very much for your help, I will be doing the necessary tests.

Sorry for the delay in analyzing your answer, due to the chaos here in Italy, I am having very little time for Modding. But thanks for the help.
