A Man and His Doge

Got through the last run a while ago, grabbed this screencap (https://imgur.com/6gnudwy) during the last cut. Interesting how it resolves to a story about a man and his doge at the end. Its common thread, understood regardless of language, a nice touch.

The Lost Alpha Configurator began screwing up around Pripyat. Causing significantly more problems both getting the game to initiate properly and run for protracted periods.

It was my third pass at Master difficulty. Glad it's behind me. Doubt playing again at a lesser level will prove a challenge. As such expect it's curse to be long lasting. Don't want it to be like the after game, lacking verve.

Learned much along the way and read a great deal here thanks to the Tejas Stalker, DarkMinds, TM5000 and others. Even the pesky and oft objectionable Byte Me. Sympathize with the mental load carried. Trying to keep this that and the other thing ordered between versions, updates and mods.

His persistent harping about Mods rests like pebble in shoe. Next run through (v1.4007 again) will be as pure vanilla as possible. Actually feel marching around with a matched pair of Merlots, a shade to pagan for my liking.

Well I'm sorry the activity on Lost Alpha died down for the moment. All of us you mention had a very interesting run about the latest incarnation being 1.4007. I just wish the Configurator wouldn't force people to install the latest lesser Mods ( many by default when people unknowingly install the Game ) update patches. Sadly they are untested and break the Game. Even, as in my case, you get things to limp along you suddenly find those updates break game features that have nothing to do with the features they are about ( i.e. Bandits went from green to yellow or my high-end anomaly detector lost it's ability to show anomalies ) which is totally unsatisfactory.

As mentioned I was investigating a way around that when I got too busy in real life and needed a break. When I got caught up enough to allow a little time for Gaming, I was trying out the new FPS called "Witch Hunt" I got from Steam. It was short and sweet. I just recently heard that another one of my most favorite Games from the current decade "The Long Dark" got a new area ( which may be 2 new areas since I was last there ) I'm tempted to return to it.

I want to thank you for showing up and contributing a lot of good information including some highly entertaining posts. Occasionally keep an eye out here and before you know it I may have my Game running again or if not...just may start a new one with zero added Mods.

That's here I am now and it ain't working out as desired.

Hope'n the surprise GSC alluded to is going to be released this season.

If looking for a decent game, high on the terrifying to play scale. Take a look at Dead Space 3.

PS, a Co-Op partner is needed to get to the hallucinations.
