Unobtainable stash, Garbage 1.4007
In a white car in the Garbage scrapyard. The backpack is within reach, but does not respond to the usual means of opening a stash.
Has it been reported? I can't find mention of it.
Not good to deprive a player of whatever is in there so early in the game. Its bad enough that you can't reload while running, can't run fast enough to give yourself a breathing space anyway, and you'll likely have nothing to reload with as the game is seriously mean with ammo and money both.
There have been several reports / complaints about this sort of problem, but no solutions developed. It became a problem from v1.4005 with the 'Extended Pack' addon (i.e. v1.4006)
The problem appears to be random and affects different players with different stashes. There is also a related, secondary problem:
If you place loot in a stash location for which you DO NOT have the coordinates (like everyone does, at some stage), and then GAIN the coordinates, the stash becomes 'blocked' as you have described with the added inconvenience of hiding all of the previous loot too. Which will now be inaccessible for the remainder of the game...
There are two workarounds :-
A) Stash loot in an existing coordinate location. Coords are never given twice so can't become blocked.
B) Use stash locations that never become issued (Bus Stop backpack in GMF before the Pdogs; the dead Bandit Sniper never leaves the map; chest of drawers outside Sid's door; the dead second contact at the Old Factory...)
If you do get coordinates due to Sod's Law - wind the game back a little.
Exploiting 1.4007 DC as best as I can. I will NEVER, EVER use a "cheat pack" - a game lives or dies on its gameboard. Best of luck, stalker...
