North Hills Quest bug

Hello to all,

The problem is this: if I accept Deede's quest "Finding the Underground Tunnels on the Water Dam". and go to the North Hills area where the green quest marker is located, there will be no cutscene and I can not continue with the story. The green marker stays where it is and nothing happens. I have already reinstalled the game and downloaded the mods again through the mod launcher, started the game as admin, loaded older saves but, nothing helped so far.

I play the english LA DC version 1.4007 with the mods:
Closed Optical Sights v1.00
Extended Weather v0.27
PRM Weapon Pack v2.24
Dynamic hud v1.50
Flashing Flashlight v1.0
HD Hands Pack v1.20
HD Hands Pack Optimized v1.00
Realistic recoil v1.30

I repeat. "None of your patchpacks should be of any concern", all of them pretty much tinker around the edges of the 1.4007 release and just affect your optics and immersion.

The mission task is a storyline base task that executed perfectly well from 1.30013 through to 1.4005.

Your problem may be the result of what is not mentioned in your OP. That 1.4007 by definition incorporates "Gameplay DLC" and that the problem may reside within this obligatory piece of coding.

Since save / reload / reinstall / reload has not helped you any, I suggest the following possible workarounds:

1) Run over Countryside to RDV with Hermit. It's a long shot but it might relink the storyline.

2) Don't bother entering Countryside (it's only North Hills in 1.4006/7)
3) Turn the Scorcher off prematurely so that you never need to go to Countryside.
4) NB - Turning off the Scorcher is more difficult in 1.4007. You WILL need a non-helmeted suit (space suits do not equip ANY psi hat) and you will have just four minutes to do it.
5) Exiting the defused Scorcher gets you to "Meet Voronin" whether you di Countryside or not.

We also have a mutated cybercat here too. It'll barf here soon.

First of many thanks for your help but I never saw Hermit. The quest did not came to that point because the cutscene did not trigger.

I solved the problem myself more or less. I've used the LA: Toolkit (developer mode: ingame F2) to enable / disable Infoportions. I have opened the infoportion "info_la19_country.xml" (path: ..config \ gameplay \ infoportions \) and entered the line "<info_portion id =" country_found_real_entrance "> </ info_portion>" in the LA: Toolkit and set it active. The result was that the forced quest to find the real entrance became active, but the old quest still remains in the PDA and is still active too. Nevertheless, the quest to find the entrance can simply be ignored and the "new" quest can just be continued.

I hope I've written that halfway understandable and I'm not really happy with that "solution", but it works that way and gets me back in the game.
