L.A. DC 1.4007 change faction relations
No issues so far, I'm about on the 55% of the storyline, better than 1.4005, 1.4002 and 1.3003... I only finished 1.3003...
Is there any way to change faction relations after completion during Freeplay?
Which is the procedure for editing? |

Hope you have fun in the next 45%

Yes, it's better than v1.4005, but that's automatically setting the bar LOW.
Although a bit fiddly, clunky, and too unrealistically 'realistic' v1.4002 would be my favourite LADC by far. The 'expedition' almost worked and we found workarounds to get it to ACTUALLY work. It was also the last version where you could achieve both "Victory" endings.
I think most players completed LA v1.3003 (1.30013 was impossible and 1.3002 was very flaky) and they might have played it again (.. )
If by inference you have 45% of the game to play, you may be 'over the hump' of the early game drudgery. Good luck Stalker!

Nope.
Other than the trivial solution that changes them negatively, you're pretty much stuck with what you see.
**NEWSFLASH** Freeplay has not been altered AT ALL from v1.30013. So "free spawning" NPCs and mutants will be a 'thing' as you level change.

To misquote - but in misplaced context:-
"No clue..."
I did and reported some minor hacks to the 1.3003 files, but things have moved on since then. Your best bet is to read the fine article that another highly motivated contrib wrote on the wiki:
https://lost-alpha.fandom.com/wiki/Browsing_the_gamefiles
Get the Anomaly Fields working again might be a mini priority.
Have much fun!

Looks like your rabid mongrel is no longer biting your leg and is now humping mine. You owe me one.
I wonder if it will quote itself again and continue foaming at the mouth? The odds say yes.

I was surprised at the thin-skinned vitriol that your very neutral comment received. You have mentioned exactly this in your own recent thread; quite early on too. Not only that, but you were an OFFICIAL tester for the original Dwave; giving feedback ought to be an expectation. Otherwise - why bother? As for the response you had from one individual (unnamed) and some of the resultant "linear play" objects coded into the gameboard as a result.
Sadly, modding level structure so that you can "drive up tunnels" is a much larger filesize MOD than the correct solution to the "Bar helichase" that was such a challenge in v1.30013 (you disable the Yantar GMF south level changer for the duration of the mission)
Currently, I'm playing the 1.4002 version, and to be quite honest, I'm enjoying it tremendously.
It's LESS of a 'runaround' (no ten-level toolkit hunt)
Artifacts just about 'make sense' for a SoC game ... CS too... even CoP..
The Anomaly Fields still work - but I'm not much interested.
There are 12 cars - again, and the free ones are AOK and don't look like deathtrap fagmobiles.
Technicians don't need you to go on "sixteen-level flashdrive hunts" - but they do charge FOUR times as much for an upgrade.
But the economy isn't 'carefully balanced' to be totally shagged...
There's no fastidious little algorithm to whisk your lootpiles away off the board (introduced in v1.4005)
Salvaged guns that were just recently drilling me don't look like trash that won't trade. It will trade.
Shooting the breeze with Sid during a Blowout by "Passing the Poltergeist brain" is a thing again. Petrenko does this too.
So, I'm very likely to take this game to a satisfactory ending ...
I abandoned a recent 1.4006 venture after a few game days because there was no incentive to play it. The weapons were wank. The suits were shyte. The Anomalies a bit too invisible... And the biggest tell of all - no artifact bulletproofing. All gone.
Not only that, but currently, in 1.4002, I'm experiencing MUCH more COHERENT gameplay than in either 1.4005, 6, or 7. Fair enough, the buggy 'Expedition' is due soon and the Nimble AI has been exasperating -- but there are known workarounds so I'll give it my best shot.
I don't care if there are only going to be about 8 "experience points" in my game. What's the point of 'earning' 10 points for completing the game???
@TS
---QUOTATION--- This reminds me of all the testing and discussions I had of the various patches of Clear Sky. I'm probably one of the few people still here that experienced 1,5.03, 1.5.04, 1.5.05, 1.5.06 ( disastrous patch NOT put out by GSC but by Deep Silver ) 1.5.07, 1.5.08 and the hated worst patch that gimped so many things, removed a lot of action and made the Game way too easy: 1.5.10 ---END QUOTATION---
I played all of those.
I completed the game twice. Not completed on the very early ones, just crash city on steroids.
Can't play it ever again...

I dunno, I've tried on a couple of occasions during the last 2-3 years to play Lost Alpha, and both times I had to give up. Various glitches with the storyline, having to restart bugged missions multiple times, lots of stuck NPCs, infuriatingly bad gameplay and map design choices etc. I also have little love for games that almost make it a design choice to needlessly waste the player's time - ie. Lost Alpha. At least Anomaly seems to get most stuff right, looking forward to play it fully when it's out of beta.
As much as I applaud 4A Games for exploring a post-apocalyptic universe similar to STALKER, the Metro series is a far cry from the STALKER experience. My go-to game now is Witcher 3, but there is something about STALKER you can't forget. Hopefully STALKER 2 will eventually appear, and be a mod-friendly game, and not fall prey to the near omnipresent identity politics and leftist propaganda these days. However, Eastern Europe and Russia are about the only places left in the Western world, not taken over by the radical left, so I'm hopeful. |
