I agree, and have suggested many times that those interested in helping to translate should contact the devs and potentially participate.

He's not listed anywhere on the official O.P 2.1 webpage.

You must of missed my post from the last page. Pukekiller is on the translation team now helping. He asked to help on the translation on the JP 2.1 forum and got recruited. Pukekiller also has a team behind him and did a great job translating different mods on moddb. Here is the team's site. https://www.moddb.com/company/genies-of-the-zone

My view … I would prefer they don't waste time on English voice overs. I like the atmosphere of the original language --- just like I never watch dubbed movies.

db pack code

@Olivius74 & Grunter Hunter

Is there any code (like the Naxac one) that can pack files to .db format that would work for this mod. It might be a way (by creating a .dbzzz file or something) that would trick the gamedata folder barrier the developers have set up.

I tried to translate some of the dialog_arhara.xlm text file for Cordon but could not get it to be recognised.

The game is still locked on that point (unpack and pack *.db) and in the Engine also.
No demo_record...Many commands in console not recognize.

For text ,as they change so many think, I have to tinker to show our accents in French everywhere in the game.
I think nothing was planned in French unlike English.
And you don't know how lucky you are to have no accents in english

I think (perhaps a stupid think),but, have you change the fsgame.ltx?

And once files unpacked,you need to rename the unpack folder (game_unpacked),and create your own gamedata folder.
Then you put the file in folder,but be careful the path changes also :
Now X:\OP\gamedata\config\text
No language folders needed as in the past.
But you can modify that if you change the line

[string_table]
language = ;rus

in

[string_table]
language = rus

Now you need X:\OP\gamedata\config\text\rus

Hope all will work for you

Each word should be at least 3 characters long.
