---QUOTATION--- Slower Fuel Consumption on Vehicles
This will help you get around more easy as well
open vehicles.itx file (using notepad) located here:
S.T.A.L.K.E.R. - Lost Alpha\gamedata\config\misc\items
and change the fuel consumption values of all them to 0.0001
here is a tip: click on edit menu > find in notepad and type in fuel_consumption and just keep hitting the down button to go down the file faster.
Anyone know of any Jerry cans of fuel in Garbage, Bar and DV?...I humped a red barrel to DV to refuel my Cossack ...and well that didn't work...thx
DV has 3 jerry cans just to the left of the Monolith base middle entrance. Garbage and Bar have non that I have seen though the Traders will reportedly sell them more frequently once the next patch (dear god its taking time) is released. Fuel barrels do nothing for vehicles as far as I can see only jerry cans.
Yes its good work Nite, thanks for the maps and info. ---END QUOTATION---
Thanks for the info

---QUOTATION--- the opening under the construction building it too small to drive through.
Its tight but you can do it in a small car.
It is also possible to drive from Agroprom to Bar Rostok/Great Metal Factory through Garbage, though it does involve quite a bit of off road work and crossing the stream in Garbage going around the tree obstruction on the bridge. ---END QUOTATION---
The area of road where the Red line is ? You can travel that area, just not on the road. You have to climb a few hills and avoid some trees on the 'left side' of the road. I've had to do it a few times. It's not easy but it is possible. ---END QUOTATION---
Thats why I used Dark Valley as a route to get around it, Yes its possible but like ya said not easy.
The only thing I would want to change is the Countryside Map.
The brown line is technically not off road since it is an actual dirt
road that is not paved. You also had another dirt road that you can
still see on the Map that goes south across the canal and over to the
Bandit Village and rejoins the main road. I had a lot of trouble driving
up the steep hill in radar with an underpowered vehicle. Did you go
that direction or was it down? If you made it up it which vehicles
did you use to try this? Some of the other input from others
has a lot to do with the size of the vehicles and power.

offroad/dirt path, same thing lol, as for the dirt road that goes over the canal, I didn't bother adding that, cause the canal part is not complete you could just drop in to it. As for the steep hill on the radar the 4 door white sedan with the yellow top made it up fine.
and funny screenshot, I had my share of anomolies throwing me around in vehicles
what I really wish I could do is drive the BTR to other maps... but no way to repair it or refuel it, its sitting lonely at the generator / npp transition where I parked it (with just a tiny bit of fuel left)
Well your guide is more accurate to indicate the difference between a
known dirt road which is not off road and an established path easy to
find and use...and that of truly off road experience where there is no
road, not easy to replicate exactly as you have done and may not be
free of trees, bushes, topographical obstacles or other difficult features.

Nite could you mark on the Forest Map where the Jerry cans are? thanks. You would think the military bases etc would have a couple of jerry cans lying around.

I thought about doing that for all the maps but the second patch is going to add more fuel cans to stashes and traders according to the 13002 changelog, I can't edit the original post of the thread anymore anyway, you are locked out of editing posts on GSC forum after so many days.
Currently right now though on forest map, look in the building Northeast of the southern warning icon (3 fuel cans are located thier) and thier is vilage a bit northeast of that building (can't be seen on map cause of the trees) 1 fuel can is thier.
