@achillesdave,

I haven't checked this yet but those text/script/gameplay files in OP-2 which have the same date/time as the equivalent in OP-1 (if there are any) may possibly be able to be replaced directly with your translated versions.

The download page for this topic has description and links to some patches .... Note that these are unofficial as they digress from the purist intent of this mod

1. 100% parts monsters.
2. Cancel intro for OP-2.
3. Cooking artifacts for 5 minutes for OP-2.
4. Increase font OP-2.
5. Immortal NPC for OP-2

I've been going through the scripts and finding lots of changes. A lot of the new quests seem to be SMS driven, and there is a lot to translate. A playthrough will be required to make sense of it all. This will take some time. Meanwhile I've been working on things like AMK news, artefact containers, transmutater, locks, and other basics before I play on. I'll send you what I have once I finish, that way we can keep it all in one translation.

I wonder how you edit actor? I don't see the file. Can I get a better hint on the collector's 'under the bridge' stash. Thanks

repair

how do you repair guns ,armour, sid does not repair like in the first version of this and when I click on the repair items in my backpack nothing happens,anyone got to repair their gearr? also I am heading towards being stuck as I find that as long as I give the major or one of his soldiers a bottle of vodka to get through the bridge at the cordon they remain friendly and I can get the tasks ect,but as soon as I try to sneak over the rail way they will shoot at me afterwards thus making it impossible to do all the majors quests and have reached the stage where if I go back I will be stuck in cordon as I am down to my last bottle of vodka and as someone quoted in a earlier posting you need to keep friendly with the major or you will not finish the game.

Thank you so much. I am playing at the moment to identify/fix bad English in what I have so far ... this is critical for things such as the very cryptic clues leading to hidden caches etc. The new Collector, as @jugulator is finding, is a "bitch".

Stalkerstein is working on a SCRIPT translator ... this will be a very challenging task considering the variability in coding formats.

Let me know if there is anything you want me to tackle/send.

The actor.ltx file is there in that patch. When you have unzippped look, not in gamedata folder, but in the second folder with the Russian text label.
Careful with changes though. Joint Pak is notorious for punishing you when you cheat .... by breaking quests.

Worked it out .... fiddly. Have only tried it on guns but should be the same for armour. You now have individual repair kits ... no repair box.

The process is the reverse of the old method. If you want to repair a weapon:
1. Make sure you are not holding any weapons in your hands
2. Drop the weapon you want to repair and then pick it up.
3. Use your repair kit.
4. Repeat the process for as many repairs as you want/can

Repair for each kit is around 10%. If the item is less than around 70% healthy it is considered too badly damaged for the kits and you will need to take it to a trader to fix. Don't know what the irreparable limit for the trader is ... 20/30%?

World Wide SOC V1.0006 basic mod install, with patch & translation.

Game & mod started up fine. Cool intro movies. Did not have to move any files or folders. Mod setup was expecting the game to be installed in "Program Files (x86)\STALKER". Finally got a bit of free time this weekend. The mod looks really good so far.

Copied mod files, including setup.exe, to the game directory.

Copied the game directory name and path into the windows clipboard.
(for me: "c:\games\S.T.A.L.K.E.R. - Shadow of Chernobyl" ) .

Ran the mod setup.exe in the root folder of the game directory.

Corrected the installation path in one of the dialog boxes. "Pasted" the correct path from the clipboard.

Used default pre-checked options, including 16x10 (which is what I have for a monitor). Not sure what I may have missed with the other options and check boxes.

EDIT, official patch and latest Translation added ok to WW version SOC, May 19 2014.

OP2Fix.exe dated May18-2014 from Yandex.com, a self-extracting archive. Placed gamedata.dba in the game directory (overwriting the older version).

JP2_Trans_Eng_V2.2.rar (see Mod Downloads forum post). Copied "gamedata" folder to the game folder.

Game loads to a translated menu (mostly in English). Loaded an older saved game ok.
 
Each word should be at least 3 characters long.
