thanks that worked but why did they make such a basic mistake in the first place,not sure about this mod I loved the first one but up to now I find that all they have done is to reduce the weapons that the first version had,reduced the ammo and increased the enemy in some cases to ridiculous amounts and increased the amount of things you have to pick up to complete a quest,i will carry on in the hope that it will get better but the signs are not promising.

Whatever it will be, it couldn't be as a huge a disappointment as LA was for me.

..... strange on the keys though ... low crouch for me was the standard Ctrl-Shift and change ammo was "Y" ... I didn't have to set it up.

I'm really enjoying it. There's lots of changes compared to JP 1 and i'm just at the beginning. Collector run is modified , there's some extra stashes added - in Cordon and Agroprom by now - with 6 possible locations.
The weapons seems modified too,i remember in JP1 i didn't liked the AK 47 Scout,but now i'm using it . Seems to be less weapons,but this is not bothering me.I always thought there's too many of them. And i still think there should be only russian weapons in the Zone.
I checked the weapons folder and i noticed the soulcube. I hope there's a quest for it ( like in NS DMX).
I also noticed an increase in the amount of things to collect. - at least,Akim wants 40 zombie hands,usually he wanted only 10.
Didn't checked the special request from traders yet.

Y is the default key for '' change ammo type'',but it's listed as '' next weapon'' in the controls window.
Did you started the Collector ? I'm sure you gonna like it.
The russian developer seems to be obsessed with his ''anticheat sistem''.
After reading some russian sites, i think the .db files are not meant to be
unpacked,I think that's why i had that error involving the '' wrong actor.ltx''. After i did it as you said ( unpacking only .db9) i checked the config file and there's no actor.ltx in ''creatures'' folder.
Players are not supposed to modify the jump height , weight carried and the amount of money. Fine by me,at least now the jump height is reasonable,compared to JP1.

Started Collector - yes. Also Major Kuznetsov has many quests, including cache hunt .... so do not upset him.

actor.ltx is in db7 ... but yes don't try to cheat.

As I play I look for bad English machine translation and will try to clean up as I go. Also have to try translate some of the script files. When I have a little more I will post another translation ... bit by bit. It will be crude ... not like the more polished jobs other translators do ... but hopefully playable.

Also, be careful, your caches/stashes get robbed.

There will also be script files and (likely) ltx files that will need translation.

Setting up Joint Pak 2 for Russian SoC 1.0006:
1. Install clean Russian SoC 1.0006 (remove everything old including "stalker-shoc" in User - Public Documents)
2. Install OP2 mod using setup where Russian SoC is installed. In the setup instruction the only thing you need to tick is 16x9 option. This will install OP2 in a subfolder called "STALKER".
3. Replace db1 - db9 and dba files in the SoC folder with those from OP2 and DELETE the additional dbb, dbc, dbd files in the SoC folder (this is important)
4. Replace the XR3DA.exe and xrGame.dll files in your SoC bin with those from the OP2 bin.
5. Make sure that the shortcut created for your OP-II game has the path set to your SoC root folder bin. (You will probably notice that it is intially set to the STALKER subfolder bin)

Note: I haven't tried the WW version of SoC yet but the gamedata translation should work with that. Since all db files of the original SoC are redundant anyway I haven't bothered with the WW version so far.

Hi,
How to get out of the cave?
I killed all the zombies and I have all the weapons in my inventory with the remaining ammunition and artifacts.
I spoke with the miner, and he gave me the medicine. I drank the medicine, my inventory is empty, but I'm not teleporting in Cordon, any idea why?
Can anyone of you upload a save after the cave, please ?

Small translation upgrade

No new files but some better English and minor conversions in some places and a fix for weapons/armour repair dialogue with Sid/traders which the Dialogue Helper somehow scrambled.

This cave scenario is set up differently from previous NS mods. It is merely a bit of a playground for you ... you can't be killed. The main objective is to get a job from the miner about microcircuits. He then gives you a drink, which when you take, it, tranports you back to Rookie Village - minus everything. You can now go and see Sid and start off from scratch.

Best to upload my translation from previous post (V2.11) before you continue .... it's far from complete or perfect but better than the last version V2.1

@achillesdave, I haven't done a compare with your translation for JP1. I'm sure you're right ... but there is a lot of extra/new dialogue and I don't know whether this is embedded in new files or whether old ones have been edited.

I found the third Collector stash in Cordon .... I can see it ... but how do you get to it??? If this is a taste of things to come it's going to be hard.


... sort of time to go to sleep in my part of the world now ... try again tomorrow.
