A few more things to ask regarding the improvements mod 4.7. Can i use only the "game data" folder or it will not work without the "bin" folder. Can i uset with the AIO mod that i downloaded? I can do without SweetFX, as for me at least, it did not work in DX10.
Thanks |

---QUOTATION--- Interesting....
I guess its all about the setup ---END QUOTATION---
Question: If i copy only the Gamedata Folder from Serious Improvements i get all the improvements without SweetFX right?
And the problem of "your videocard doesnt support the requirements" were gone when i disable MSAA and HBAO/HDAO Strange. |

HBAO and HDAO are fucked up for AMD cards I think.
The shadows are weird and show up on your hand very strangely.
Just keep them disabled if you have AMD card. |

They are also f'ed up with Nvidia cards, at least that's my experience. With Nvidia cards grass shadows/shading is not working properly. Use SSAO standard option, which is a bit easier on the GPU too... |

Occlusion and shadows
i have thoroughly tested the
Ambient Occlusion on my nvidia card (690GTX)
using recommended nvidia inspector settings
for SLAM (see first page) there is no fps hit. zero. nada.
shadows: i have grass shadows 'off'.
grass shadowing in the stalker series is broke.
a very large fps hit in the default series.
in LA with the extreme foliage, it is a brutal fps hit.
'off' is recommended, it has a negligible affect on immersion. |

Static Lighting only
Hi,
After playing about a bit with the settings, I've found out that (after installing the latest Nvidia drivers 344.48) I can now only use 'static lighting' - where as before I could play it quite smoothly on 'Full dynamic lighting [DX9]'.
Are there any ways to fix this, apart from the obvious one of rolling back the Nvidia drivers?
Thanks,
DANNY

Danny -
I am using 344.48 dynamic DX10... no issues.
however, switching to DX9 game hangs on exit. black screen.
continues to hang regardless of setting UNTIL
game is started with DX10 settings.
something is wrong with DX9... no sure if it's directly related to 344.48.
will test more later... errands to run.
for now, advise either:
DX10 Full Dynamic Lighting or
delete 344.48, ccleaner, then install 344.41. |

DX9 issues
trying to sort out Danny's dx9 problem.
344.48 has issues... but it is not the problem with LA.
344.41 has the same problems with shutdown in DX9 mode...
hang/crash.
the problem is SLAM SweetFx.
tried different render.dlls and d3d9.dlls... no help.
replaced SLAM SweetFX files with the official SweetFx 1.5.1
no problems with running or shutting down.
no issues with SLAM and DX10.
can't narrow down the exact file causing the problem,
they are too interdependent ... perhaps Serious can narrow it down.
(sorry, could help more but short on time... in process of moving) |
