Strange how it seemed hard to folks to install this?
I mean if you play on a computer you have to either learn stuff yourself, or have a geeky fairy godmother to help you.
Still it's all good, if it helps the great unwashed get into the best game on the planet ---END QUOTATION---
Yeah, well it doesn't help that the directions posted with the files themselves are completely wrong. Why turn that simple fact into an insult?
You can skip the video once you are aware that you only need to extract the Part 1 archive yourself; the installer will extract the other three parts—if you do so manually, you'll end up with errors that might have you thinking you got a bad archive.
Furthermore, you may want to put the game somewhere other than the C: drive, unless you want to take the time to sort that particular problem out, as well.
The installer will add related driver and codec stuff after the main game install, so expect that.
Changing the controls in game causes crashes. Has this been fixed, yet? |

There is an error in your installation video.
After unpacking DirectX (you are unpacking it, not installing it), you have to go to the folder where you unpacked it and run setup. First then DirectX is actually installed. After you have run setup of DirectX you can delete the folder DirectX was unpacked to. Instead of unpacking DirectX to the temp folder it's better to unpack it to the desktop. That way the folder is easier to find for actually installing DirectX and for deleting the installation folder afterwards.
As the version of DirectX included seems to be from 2010, only fresh installs of Windows should need it or new computers that has not had any games installed yet as most AAA games and also some Indie Games includes installation of DirectX. If people are playing games from Steam they should have the newest version of DirectX installed. For making sure the newest version of DirectX is installed, use the web installer for DirectX:
You can update DirectX here:
http://www.microsoft.com/en-us/download/details.aspx?id=35
Click the Orange "Download" button.
Click the Blue "No thanks and continue" button
Select "Run" on the popup.
Select "Yes" to any warning.
Select "I accept the agreement" in the "Setup for DirectX" window, then click the "Next" button.
Remove the Check at "Install the Bing Bar", then click the "Next" button.
The DirectX installer will check your computer and install as necessary.
