Tried that 1.0005 patch. Loads but get no log crashes when pressing "F" to talk to Astrologer. Patch only contains two files, message_box.xml of 10/25/2011, and system.ltx of 10/25/2011. System.ltx overwrites the mod file dated 2/3/2013 (some of your translations inside?). Don't have the vanilla Russian version in-hand for comparisons. Tried the old trick of copying the "eng" folder and renaming the copy "rus", which didn't help.

Older NS adaptations had many more files. Maybe the mod is tweaked to minimize how many files must be patched for 1.0005? Or could it need the old adaptation + the two new files? [EDIT, it needs both]. DMX 1.3.5 is for V1.0004 or V1.0006, and has no 1.0005 adaptation. The DMX V1.0006 adaptations have only a few files: message_box.xml, task_manager.script, dialog_manager.script, xr_motivator.script and system.ltx.

EDIT: Need to check those Russian sites when I have time. Don't know what I'm doing.

EDIT 2: Working game in SOC V1.0005. Game starts, can talk to Astrologer. Tried "Adaption 1.0005, 1.0006.7z", which crashed. Put on top of it the usual NS adaptation to SOC 1.0005 "NS_adaptaciya_k_1.0005-1.0006", then copied over the Joint Pak "Adaption 1.0005, 1.0006.7z" again, overwriting files as needed.

May not need all of the files in the older adaptation. Particularly wonder if the FN2000 files are still needed. May also have lost some translated material, don't know. Not too many files involved in any event. And not sure of the "proper" installation order (NS, adaptaton, Joint Pak, adaptation, etc), but for our purposes we really just need something which works with this new English translation from Achillesdave. The ideal would be a single combined patch for 1.0005 users. Have not looked inside the affected files. Do they contain much translated material?

The message_box xml might be the problem. I added the Serafim12 Hud, (which also has message_box xml) to the gamedata folder. If you restore that file to the original from Joint_Pak pt.1, you might only need the system ltx file to run v1.0005

Here's an explanation about the cheat protection from one of the authors,

Protection is on the jump, the physical dimensions (height, weight, width, height to sit down, etc.) and visibility of objects. If correct them - subjects stand. Everything else (protection against defeat, carried weight, etc.) in the recesses of no effect, but also controlled - by other means). If you do not climb into the configuration of the actor - that caches do not stand up. But there may be other problems that are the subject will not be discussed. Proper70

if I am reading this correctly it means I can up the carry weight? as I found I was spending more time running back and forth to traders with a few guns to get more cash and I took the advice of the read through and first got a bandit exo which only helped a little and then the gravity suit which brought the game back to normal but that means that all the other suits in the game are no good as you cannot carry enough ammo for two guns,food,artifacts in your belt to have a chance to beat most of your enemies so if you can up the carry weight to 150 to 200 without affecting the game play you can then start using the other suits.I do not want to do this without confirmation as I am now 60 hours into the game and want to play the new tasks.

part 5 corrupted?

...achillesdave, don't know if its only me but dwnld part 5 seems corrupted, cann't open it with 7zip or winrar, and yes tried a new dwnld but its still a no go...

I recently collected Strelok's suit from Ag. Under.

The info on it suggests that it has an added carry capacity of 40kg - in its ltx file.

Putting the suit on does not change any of the numbers in your inventory concerning weight carried.

The same thing with a Merc exo - 15kg extra carried, but no change to on-screen numbers when you put it on.

Also, for his locks Akim asks for 20,000 rubles in his dialogue. Buy one and he only takes 10,000 rubles.

I see the 'idiot' ideas are still in the mod - if a dog looks at you it is so terrifying that daylight increases very locally and you throw your weapon at it - the author must think all Stalkers are complete idiots! Why would anyone throw away their only defence?

And the suit you work so hard and long to obtain, the one that costs you so much, the Skat 15 from Akim's task line, had possibly the worst NV there is. And you couldn't change it! What a complete and total waste of time obtaining that suit was. I do hope the NV, or the ability to change it, has been altered in this.

I didnt adjust it in my game, so I cant really confirm. The new armors that are found in the Collector, Kostya, new territory caches, and worn by enemies have carry weights of up to 320kg and you can run under full load.

Files with possible translation impact for SOC V1.0005 users:
Joint Pak 1.0005/6 adaptation "2. Адаптация 1.0005, 1.0006": system.ltx & message_box.xml.
Narodnaya Solyanka SOC 1.0005 adaptation "NS_adaptaciya_k_1.0005-1.0006": task_manager.script, xr_motivator.script, dialog_manager.script.

Tested Russian Joint Pak and Joint Pak patch installs over the NS SOC 1.0005 adaptation (no NS mod, just the 1.0005 adaptation). Joint Pak "Объединенный Пак" overwrites only system.ltx & message_box.xml. Patch "Патч ОП от 18.02.12" onto NS 1.0005 adaptation, nothing overwritten. Patch "Фикс ОП" onto NS 1.0005 adaptation, nothing overwritten.

Russian forum mod installation instructions suggest further SOC V1.0005/6 adaptations may be needed with other add-ons.
"Large-Hood [HUD] (if needed)
Adapting a blessing from the archives of 1.0005/1.0006 (if it is, certainly, if put patch 5.6)
Additions from the folder "Additions to the OP"
Adaptation amendments 1.0005/1.0006 of images (if it is, certainly, if you put the patch 5.6) "

Joint Pak (Achillesdave) SOC 1.0005 and 1.0004 HUDs look the same, except I have 1.0005 on a 4:3 monitor (so HUD elements look compressed, fatter).

Hi, as suggested I went on the AMK site for the guide to this mod as you definitely need it I did 15 of voronins quests for the papers but cannot figure out the last five could this be the translations? however the guide is locked so I registered with the AMK site and joined however even after that the guide is still locked, does anyone know what you have to do to get the guide to unlock.

It's locked to receive no more posts. You can still view all the content, but first you need to open the sections before translating the page. They lock when translated to english. If you are using google, click the original button at the top of the page so you can open the sections, then translate.
