Ah. Cheers for the tip. I'll bear it in mind.

Sadly Yantar is next, and it's a total crashfest.

Maybe the 'Static Lighting' setting will help.

Sadly it isn't.

It's simply the area. I, and a few of my friends all suffer from the same problems.

I've tried all lighting and graphics options, and mine being the least powerful, but still pretty damn beefy (Out of the group of 5 of us whom are doing a play-through) isn't quite able to cope with it, even via static lighting.

Still. It could be worse.

It's nothing but stack traces and script function overflows so to speak. Not sure why it flips total balls in Yantar for me and my friends, yet as an example. Pripyat with its pure mayhem runs flawlessly.

There allot of talk of stack trace crashes on the Stalker Soup steam forum I think TecnoBacon is currently fixing them I think there caused by population control in allot of levels.

It's to be expected giving the sheer amount of content and the strain that it causes on this now old incarnation of the engine.

Pretty much my only crashes are Yantar and that is it. I've had maybe one or two crashes that weren't in Yantar. Out of the 30 or so I've had.

Try these tips :
1. reduce the amount of items you carry meaning use 2 weapons only , do not carry a lot of artifacts use the min of med kit and don’t carry anything else e.g. food or junk

2. turn of bio radar

3. remove any caches you have in the area and do not sell to the local population only to trader

4. go after a terror hour when the mutants are min

I only use a shotgun, simply because they are INCREDIBLY OP, and I don't bother with Artifacts because I have no use for them (I can snipe NPC's using Buckshot and a Winchester shotgun) and they sell for barely anything. So I don't carry any around and sell them all to barkeep.

I don't have the BioRadar.

And even so. Pripyat was a clusterfuck which ran flawlessly regardless of the hundreds of mutants and NPC's.

Its just an issue with Yantar.

I could probably start tweaking with the mod files myself but I have 0 motivation to try and ammend what Technobacon will eventually fix anyway.

Yantar

Yantar/Amber crashes are In order of likeliness..
1. Sakharov related
2. Kruglov related
3. Out of memory from too many object IDs.

Sak causes modders all kinds of grief if they add or change him.

Yeah Kruglov not spawning, along with all the mercs at the WT chopper. And thus causing Sakarov not to finish his dialogue and let you continue you, there are ways around it, just finding motivation to get yourself around to doing them.
