She doesn't die. Though she is, I guess, kind of like a Bond girl now that I think about it.

How can he cheat on Velvet? They aren't together!

Arg, sorry, but I really didn't want that spoiler about Eva. I did hope for her to survive but there was still the risk of her getting killed, after all the story is not over yet.

Edit: How un-professional of the FES to handcuff Frank turning the handcuffs the wrong way. They must feel really selfconfident and unbeatable.

I'm sorry, I didn't mean it to be a spoiler. The villain's dead, there's only the epilogue left - that's why I thought it was okay to reveal that, but I'll be more careful.

Some people expected her to die, and thought that this would be my way of setting up why Frank is drinking so hard when September rolls around. I try not to be that predictable.

His hands were cuffed in front of him, because that's how they could raise his arms to attach them to the bar. (At least that was the idea.) But the cartel people are nothing if not confident. They're used to being on top and of people being afraid of them. They're not used to anyone other than other cartels attacking them.

Maybe it's a plot hole.

From someone who claims to be in the knowing about handcuffs, I've been told this:

When handcuffing someone with modern police handcuffs, when the handcuffed person has the arms infront of him/her, you make sure the keyhole is pointing in the direction towards the handcuffed person, that way he or she is unable to put the key in the hole and unlock the handcuffs.

The reason for handcuffing behind the back is you are unable to use your hands for grabbing things, opening doors ect.

As the muscle are FES I suppose they would know about this.

Regarding the Eva spoiler, you are forgiven Regarding the epilogue, then to me a story is first finished when the last dot has been set. In most movies and books, only the bad guys are hurt/killed during this though I have seen a movie that ends with the two heroes getting killed. What I'm at is that there is still the mopping up to do and only the author knows what happens.

Regarding if people expect someone to die, or have an understanding that someone will die, then both of you are correct. Your expection/understanding depends on how and how much you get caught up in the story.

I ought to know stuff like that - that's probably a plot hole. The FES would know better. Maybe I could weasel out of it by saying that not all of Abila's guys are FES. But you're totally right. I'll do something about it next time I edit it.

Kusanagi's talking about a romantic understanding between Frank and Velvet - which I'll answer after the epilogue goes up, so there's no chance of any spoilers.

Maybe Frank could break one of the other people loose and unlock him? Modern furniture is not made nearly as solid as in the good old days where everything was handmade.

My personal understanding of Frank/Velvet is that Frank wouldn't mind maybe a one-nighter with Velvet but he is in no way drooling over her like most other guys in The Zone. Velvet on the other side sees Frank like a good trustworthy friend that goes his own ways but helps her out when he finds it necessary, maybe some kind of brother in arms or something like that. I'm eager to read the remainder so I can see how close I got it.

Looks like 'I' am also a tiny part of Evangeline. I have no qualms what-so-ever if the Dane suffers a terrible dead. In Evangeline he seems to be contrary to everything I believe in. Unfortunately, if I get it correctly, Evangeline takes place after Dirge Danorum....

ok so Frank wasn't cheating on velvet b/c at this point in the story there is no understanding. but its still cold to just use eva as a one-time substitution for velvet. Frank IS shallow, always blondes with him. he still loves her

---QUOTATION---

“Yeah, he’s got someone. Back in Silver Bay.”

“Oh?”

“At least, I figure he does. Either that or he’s a monk. He don’t ever indulge.”

---END QUOTATION---

why don't he indulge? b/c he would feel guilty because Velvet. why did he get pissed when the other biker said unkind things about her? in Atrophy he's cold to Velvet b/c he thinks she doesn't like him b/c shes real cold to men and he doesn't know why. he thinks she was captured by duty, not bandits, remember? why is he working for her in freedom and dirge?

once she tells him what happened he warms up real fast... he carries a photo of her...

yeah its still cheating he just wanted to get laid and there eva is with her blonde hair and big boobs

great story tho, does a good job showing what frank was doing before the islington stuff, how he got in the club and harry and riles and them

and it was badass when he punched her
that was sick and its a good thing he didnt know about vlevet during this b/c he would have lost his cool when they tied down eva

Some good insights, but I don't see how you can cheat on somebody when you're not dating/married, and you're not even speaking to each other regularly, which is the case at this point. I'm glad you liked it.

Dania, I'm not calling you a filthy sadist, I'm naming a filthy sadist in your honor. That does sound kind of weird. But Capcom did the same thing when they named Seth after Seth Killian. Seth is the arch villain in SF4, but it's not like they're calling Seth Killian an arch villain.

The character of the Dane has been in the works for a while. I like recurring antagonists, but the only one we really have is Westmoreland, because when Frank and Velvet run into bad guys, they usually kill them. Which makes it hard for them to recur. Anyway, the Dane was going to have a gamer handle type name rather than a normal name like John Smith - and I'd settled on it being a 'The Nationality' type of thing, because the Dane is a shadowy character. I couldn't call a main character 'The Dane' because everybody would be using their real name. Anyway, I was still working out the details, you mentioned you were a Dane, 'The Dane' sounded badass, and it kind of fell into place.
