As for the other guys pic, one is a Mosin, another an Enfield, and the last one is a K98K.
---END QUOTATION---

Y'know, I was going to introduce them properly and totally forgot about it!

The one on top is a Mosin-Nagant M1891/30, made in Izhevsk, Russia in 1943. It's an utterly typical example of a midwar-production Soviet rifle that was put into storage following the outbreak of peace and then refurbished some time in the '60s or '70s. The brass caps on the upper handguard probably aren't original and the bayonet doesn't match. Despite being the longest and heaviest of the three, I find it very comfortable to use: being left-handed, the short bolt handle is easier for me to reach than the curved handles of the others.

The one in the middle is a 2A made by Rifle Factory Ishapore in India in 1964. The 2A (early) and 2A1 (most common) are 7.62mm NATO adaptations of the Lee-Enfield Mark III* in .303, built as a stopgap while India transitioned from the SMLE to the FN FAL. It has an utterly atrocious coat of rough black paint on just about every exposed metal surface, plus a military rack number on the butt and a repaired spot on the forward handguard - this is not a 'never issued' rifle by any stretch of the imagination.

The one on the bottom is a Karabiner 98k with a 1942 Mauser Borsigwalde receiver. It's a perfect example of the Soviet captured K98s which seem to be most commonly available right now: not a single part matches - I've identified components from JP Sauer & Son (later of SIG-Sauer fame) and Steyr (later makers of the AUG) among others - and the metal and wood both have thick, rough finishes. Despite that, all the parts fit together very well. The action is built like the proverbial tank, though the rifle as a whole is the shortest and handiest of the three.

I'll try to get some footage of them in action the next time I'm at the range.

More for show w/ the scope than anything else. Pretty hard to target w/ that big ass barrel w/ a big ass scope on it but it looks intimidating!

Damn, that revolver could probably leave a huge hole in one's body!

Wow, nice AK there! You've got world's most reliable gun now!

Had a few double feeds.

Needless to say, my confidence in the weapon isn't as high as the internet made it out to be.

It truly is a primitive 1940s weapon. But I like it anyways.

I was going to get the short barreled one, the M38, but I got scared away by the recoil. It must be pretty bad out of such a short barrel.

So I decided that if I do get one, it will be a full length.

I might pick up a Mosin, but now they're up to $150 or more here.

Sweet AK...
There's a gun shop here in NV that has a Mosin 1890 for $125 & a long barrel style for $160.00. I'm planning on getting the short barrel version in a week or two.

PS....pretty good on those mag changes.

My Romanian AK build on an NDS-3. Note the Monster Man Grip and 10 round magazine to make the rifle CA legal.

A quick video of me changing magazines:
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=y8rLjYAmj1A

Price was $650. It used to be $400 before Obama got elected. It was good price, since they went upwards of $850 when I bought mine. They guy that sold it to me did not want to completely rip me off, since it only cost him $350 or so. Now the prices are coming back down to $650 or so my a rifle like mine. In other states the prices are already down to $600 or less.

As for the other guys pic, one is a Mosin, another an Enfield, and the last one is a K98K. Cool guns. I might pick up a Mosin, but now they're up to $150 or more here.

Also, the PPSH-41 drums were largely replaced in favor of the 35 round magazines. Lighter, more reliable, easier to handle and more comfortable put in pouches.

Cool thing is it can pierce armor like the P90, due to the 7.62x25 being shaped like a rifle round.

This is a gun I'd love to own to. The ammo is dirt cheap. Probably the cheapest centerfire ammo you can buy. $90 or so for 800 rounds.

Too bad I'd have to get an extended barreled version here. :/

It's a labour of love my friend, a labour of love.

While I'm here though, I totally forgot to mention the PPSH-41. If I love the SA-80 then the PPSH-41 is my passionate mistress.

Man that thing is awesome! And it was made in 1941, unbelievable. 900 RPM (well for the time anyway), that things got a higher fire rate than an MP5 and carries 71 rounds to a barrel instead of the average ~30 rounds of modern weapons.
