Zombie invasions

I think in CS or in a next patch, the game should have zombie invasions, not resident Evil style 'took over the entire city and no one lived' invasion, but every now and again Zobies will get high in numbers and attack a settlement such as the rookie camp, Duty base, or the Freedom base, you the player has to defend the base until they stop coming or just let them take the settlement and wait till they leave.

I agree! it would be very fun to kill zombies a wave after wave.. with your fellow loners or duty/freedom. + see bandits get owned at the car park

that mod was Fatraps FPS Run & Gun 3 on the 1.0004 patch, he does have a 1.0005 version.
tbh, it's a hard mod, not for the faint hearted

edit: a couple of more from the same game, this is just after the bridge and before the electro tunnel.

well the mod is hard but not so much because of the mutants, Fatrap has introduced a new class of NPC called Strangers they carry modified Vals, and they only hunt/kill you, they're Yellow with everyone else (in later builds hes also put Rogues in who also hunt Strangers) they're hard to kill as some are Master class, his mods have a strange effect if you save a game and reload the save,
If you haven't cleared all the mutants and Strangers and you reload the game, you get a fresh influx of Strangers and Mutants so you can end up with hordes of mutants like in my screen shots,
having said that, the mods are difficult but fun

I thought I heard that you can just spawn zombies.

... I asked about it but I can't find the thread that I posted the question in, the search functions doesn't work well for me.

Just get FatRap's Run&Gun 2 mod and change his tushkanos (mutated
rats) to zombies. It's in his script files both escape_tasks and also in
escape_dialog files. He showed me how to do it. I've had over 100
zombies in the bar area alone! It might look like this:

Well holy crap. That's actually highly awesome. And just gave me an idea... I'm thinking... Replace all enemies with zombies, make all factions (with the possible exception of Monolith, of course) either neutral or friendly, and suddenly, ZOMBIE OUTBREAK IN THE ZONE. Awesome indeed. I may have to look into this...

If you do that with scripting (like Fatrap does), then while you're in a
level and you don't kill off all of them, just quick/save & reload and
the level will respawn the same amount of them again. I've had so
many zombies on screen at one time that I caused my PC to slow to
a crawl. Great Fun!

I'd like to see a proper implementation of zombies in the game, I would love to see every faction being attacked by the zombiefied and mutants, this incudes the Military at Cordon. The mutants are completely retarded in CS they run almost as if they were on rails, they run till they hit an invisible wall and go no further, but in SoC they do chase you specially dogs and boars. GSC could explore this concept further as long as you don't get spammed for help every 5 seconds. lol

The "boring" Zombies are a tactical weapon I use against the military
in the game.
 
Each word should be at least 3 characters long.
