it would just ban the ip labeled to the player at the time as displayed in
the 'sv_listplayers' console command. you can see this
in the banned.ltx file along with a date of time indicating
the length of the ban.

Messages: 226 		I think that Stalker needs bans from GUIDs, instead of using IPs. Normally, people have dynamic IPs, then they will just have to restart the router, and they can return.

Banning GUIDs instead, is a good way to prevent even cheating. It"s easy to distribute for help other servers preventing from cheaters, and doesn"t brake any kind of laws related on "personal information of IPs". Maybe this would be helpful for a next patch

Messages: 121 		I agee, like on steam games, if you ban the steamid they need another account to return.

That's a good suggestion that they should make, that it bans the players game id.

Messages: 226 		Anyway, I dont think there"s any need of a GUID system. In my opinion, it would be easy and simple to just use the last 5 or 4 digits of the CDKeys. I suppose it"s easy enough to use a simple system like that.
Else of helping in bans, it would be helpful to prevent STALKER from cheaters. Surely, if you know that you will be banned if using any cheat would make you thinking a lot more before using any cheat.
