Well Stalker 2 should have a bigger zone so there will be plenty to do. I cant wait, the break has been too long. Im glad you guys are still here. Sad Earlywine isnt around anymore but one day we will all reunite somewhere on the other side.

Hey! It is good to hear from y'all old timers! I'm glad to see all of you doing well and I hope you all have a very good holiday season!

And it does seem to be a much high instance of infant mortality, miscarriages and problems trying to conceive these days. Sure has changed over the years. I remember when it was the other way around and you tried not to have kids! My youngest daughter was a surprise... the wife never missed taking birth control pills and in the words of Gomer Pyle "Surprise, Surprise, Surprise!"

Hey TS.. I love that COC mod. I tried the unreleased version but it was really buggy so I settled on version 1.5... and of course started tweaking it with my mod style. There is a lot of talent put in COC!

fatrap

My condolences on your loss. Words alone cannot express the sorrow you must feel.

Always good to see you hangin' around. I have found in the past decade that the "Call of Chernobyl" Mod is the best I have ever seen. Being able to join 1 of 9 Factions, random loadout choices, variable start locations and the ability to hire Companions make it shine above the rest. I've spent hours and hours ( years and years ) among the various versions ( 1.2, 1.3 and 1.4. ) and I'm currently testing an unreleased version now.

What can I say man? The Zone would not be the same without you. Stop disappearing.

Currently I'm worried about Dave Edwards. He used to be fairly active here but he mostly moved to Facebook and was also known by d4v33edz on ModDB. He last posted on FB January 18, 2020. I asked him on his page in July if he was okay but got no answer. A couple of days ago I messaged his daughter but have not gotten an answer yet. He lives in the UK and was born in 1953, so he's almost 70 now. I hope he is okay.

I think everyone could go for a nice christmas this year. I'm looking at another lockdown in my city. Already illegal for me to visit friends. Not arguing with it, makes sense. Just a little disheartening to not be able to see people.

I mean I'm a fairly antisocial dude, I can handle another few months of isolation. Just running out of hobbies and activities.

Yes, I agree with you Viking. Lee was an interesting man with an incredible life story. But, I think we all have our incredible life story.

*noticed pile of dust*

I thought I clean this place well, how? Oh I see it... good to see you again Maiman. Sorry to hear about yours situation. Let's say 2020 has been bad for everyone, anywhere in the world.

With Fatrap back and Maiman popping up? Who else? Think we will have a nice Christmas this year after all?

*pile of dust in corner shifts*

Hey guys, been a while.

I recently read that one of the early writers of stalker passed away recently. Thought I'd swing by and talk.

Saw Fatrap is back. Sorry to hear about your situation with your family man. That's rough. A few years back I was to have a little sister, something went wrong somewhere along and that didn't work out. I still think about that, she would have been six or seven by now. My mother is doing much better now, but she nearly died from the experience. As callous as it sounds, for my family at least, things could have gone worse. I'm just glad I didn't lose two family members that day, according to the doctors I almost did.

Decided I'll let everyone know, I am still alive.

Can't say I got any good news to share, things have not really be rolling my way lately. Though given how this year has gone, that's probably how most people's lives are going.

Sorry I haven't stopped by in a while. I always mean to. This place means a lot to me. Lot of good memories. I just hope Stalker 2 can bring us all together again like old times, maybe bring back some more old friends.

Hey fatrap, great to see you around again.
Sorry to hear about your daughters misfortune. It's not an uncommon thing unfortunately, my neighbours above suffered the same fate and they've been trying (and still are) for years now.

*sips his beer*

Lees death is a tragic in itself, he had a lot of stories yet to tell. We'll never know how the Pandora Affair plays out He lived an interesting life, I'd liked to have met him in person and listen to his exploits, as i'm sure Mr.M will agree.

This reminds me, we haven't heard from Wobbs for some while now, lastly he mentioned some computer issues but that was also some weeks ago already. Hope he's fine.

I really don't know how many of them are still around. Some hang out in other parts of the forum and some may have moved on from the Stalker franchise.

It was really sad when I found out and most people didn't even know. I took it upon myself to announce his passing through several channels. A Stalker fan gone should not be gone unnoticed.

---QUOTATION---
Fatrap! What a surprise! Damn, I missed your post by three days. Sorry to hear about your daughter's loss.

And here is your wodka. Drink as much as you want, it's on the House. Since I am running this place now. Siro is pretty much absent.

Lee Earlywine, a.k.a. Old Stalker/McKenzie, has passed away 2.5 years ago. It wasn't until 2 weeks later that I found out on Facebook. A lot has changed and happened in the meantime in my life as well. But I am still here, running this bar as the bar manager/bartender.
---END QUOTATION---

That is sad news about Lee. He was a good guy! It makes me wonder how many of the old timers have passed away that we don't know about. I remember busetibi... that was about 9 years ago. Nightwatch and rockingmtranch are still around but there are so many I have not heard from in years.
A toast to all the old ones... may they live on forever!
