The first prototype Sig P226 series had a jamming problem. The decock clutch ws re-engineered and the cartridge feed arm's angle was changed slightly...and that solved the problem.
If your Sig has a lot of wear on it, checked those two items first, replace as needed.
The feed arm can also 'bend' slightly after repeated use do to annnealing caused by high temps. To check this out quickly, unload the weapon and lock the slide back. Now, take an empty brass cartridge and lay it into the feed, just behind the receiver in the rear of the barrel.
It should sit perfectly flat in front of the push arm. If it does not... that it what needs to be changed out. Don't bother trying to fix it, simply replace it. There are plenty of spare parts for Sigs at the little smithy down the road. Parts for P226s and even P229s.
If the problem is more serious...I'd replace the Sig with a newer one. The Smithy has a couple for sale... good weapons... I carry 2 myself.
