Blinds are a good idea, you have to keep the sun away from the glass in order to keep it cool in summer. For that reason i'm putting up a awning (kinda like a 3 pointed tarp) in front of the maindoor, so the entrance hall doesn't heat up to much.

Viking: Yup..my computor room window faces west and in summer would be the hotest room in the house even though I had blinds inside the window. So I built a frame and covered it with 85% shade cloth then attached that to the outside. Now it's the coolest room in the house.

Behave while I am away.

Molecule...Yes we will...but will you???

*- He's dead -Priest replies with a flat voice- Red had to kill him.

Dancer turns to PCD and asks him angrily -You killed him? Just like that? But why? Was it because he had a way of getting people to pay extra for special orders? Yes, I know about that. He was a friend of my father, not that I knew him that much but he never wronged us. The other traders are also making people pay extra if possible, everyone does it.

- I have warned him several times that he was playing a dangerous game as his extortion put people's lives at unnecessary risk. He helped setting up a trap for killing me, so I killed him. Had he only tried to get more money out of me I would not have killed him, only given him a lesson to remember.

- What proof do you have he tried to kill you?

- Priest accidentally overheard Grigory talking with someone who worked on behalf of those mercs. Priest and I know each other so he told me. I would do the same for him.

- But couldn't you just have...

- I get it's hard to take in -PCD interrupts Dancer-. I know about all those stories people are telling on the outside. Yes, you can get filthy rich in here, but there is a much higher chance you will find an unmarked grave. If not the mutants, radiation or anomalies kills you, the person you shared a bottle of vodka with last night might do it. You get a different perspective on life if you survive long enough in here. The rare artifact that can buy you a house on the outside might in worst case only be worth some stale bread, a can of Tourists Delight and a bed for the night in here, that is if someone has not killed you for it first. Anyone who have been here long enough accepts that's how it is, but we are also aware there is a line from which there is no way back. If one wants to live in here one have to accept the rules or leave for the Outside. Enough preaching, we got things to do before we get company.

- What do you mean, are there more mercs out there?

- One can never know, but our little skirmish here can't have gone unnoticed. In a few hours, latest tomorrow morning, stalkers will start showing up curious at what was going on and looking for loot. I want to be on my way when they arrive.*

Yes, Crete again. This time it was full of surprises and an even better one.

Last year, I was still ill when I went there, caught a cold in the weekend before Crete. I hardly interacted with the hotel guest and others. Not fun at all.

As Vikingstalker has noticed, I have met some interesting people. Not just beautiful ladies, but interesting people as well.

I did things differently this time and several situations have turned out to be different from what I am normally used to.

Details? The ladies? Each of the ladies, I have a specific reason why I wanted to have a picture with them. And it's not because of their looks, but it's because they are great in their own way.

*Up in the shop PCD headed for the traders main office while Priest took Dancer into one of the other rooms. While PCD got the safe opened he could hear Priest and Dancer argue for some minutes before they showed up carrying a few of the big packpacks normally used for hauling trading goods.

- So, did you find anything of interest in the safe?

- Difficult to say. Only thing of interest is an old PDA but it has no battery. I suppose he owes you some money? There are plenty of it. Mostly Ruble and Euro but also some US$. There are also a few low and medium level artifacts and some ammo. I suggest I take the PDA, we share the money and the remainder is up for grabs.

After sharing the money in equal parts PCD took a good handful of his share of the money and stuffed them into the mouth of the trader.

- Why did you do that- Dancer wanted to know.

- A message about not being too greedy. Not even bandits dare directly attack a trader without really good cause. Latest tomorrow the message will quickly spread and some traders will become a little more careful about their doings. The same goes for us before we leaves. People shouldn't get the wrong impression and believe we were raiding him.

About half an hour later Priest and Dancer left the place in one direction while PCD went a different way. That is, as soon as he was out of sight he change direction and went back to the ruined house where he had waited for the trader to arrive.

After getting something to eat he took some shut-eye waking up again in the afternoon where he kept an eye on the stalkers arriving and on his PDA where messages about Grigory's death and who he might have wronged that badly started spreading. Especially interesting was the discussion when the bodies of the 8 dead mercs were found but no traces of the trader's helpers.

In the evening after dark PCD went out and collected the remainder of his cubes, then went back into hiding where he stayed until early morning before he quietly left the place heading in a general direction to the North-West while wondering about how long it would take before the news would reach the bar.*
