Try xray_re-tools-10sep2008.It have a converter that convert levels into a LEVEL EDITOR scene,but i cant get it to work(@start converter.exe -level L01_escape -out L01_escape -mode le).I didnt setup .bat file,or instal the converter properly.So i use .geom plugin for 3d max to open level in max,then export as .OBJECT to open level into LEVEL EDITOR but you then need to rebuild game.graph all.spawn,level.ai,...

I think I have everything configured properly, except for fsconverter.ltx, and converter.ini.

I have those tools and the latest updates installed, but I can't get the converter to decompile the levels I want.

That solution with 3d max sounds great, but I don't have the software. I know I'm so close with the solution ...I have all the tools I need right infront of me.

-I copied my entire gamedata folder to X:/
-I installed all updates and the re-tools
-I opened up fsconverter.ltx and changed the $game_data$ path to X:/
-I opened up converter.ini and changed all $game_data$ paths in each config to X:/gamedata/ and X:/gamedata/levels/

Using this command:
"X:\converter.exe -level l01_escape -out l01_escape6 -mode le -with_lods"

Can't get converter to run. I would like to be able to open up the levels in the editor and hand-place some sound environment effects (reverb, diffusion, etc) to affect audio qued in those zones.

simulation, I would imagine. Rather more of a simulated character.

I suppose it made some sense to GSC, along with a lot of their design decisions.

Or we can point the finger of blame at THQ for this case.

(I tried the search function, but didn't find anything, so here goes)

what does sim_ in front of a (spawn) character mean?

i.e. sim_dolg_regular

does the sim_ stand for something that is being simulated?

as in off-line A-Life, or similar?

Is there any list of the particles that come with the vanilla .xr ore a way to see the list without the SDK?
