Looks like a mix between Skyrim and Crysis 3.

Nice dynamic footsteps in the snow. Some of the parkour looks maybe a little too agile, but better that than a player character than can barely move. Not a fan of excessive cutscenes though, even for dialogs...

I prefer 1st person but there's so many 3rd person games out there that we can't really avoid them & despite them being 3rd Person I've really enjoyed games like this & those in the Tomb Raider reboot franchise so I'm gradually getting used to them.
---END QUOTATION---

I must confess I sometimes switch to 3rd person in ARK because it allows better peripheral vision, and is the only way to peek above walls or around corners (there's no leaning). But it sure takes away immersion, and literally creates a distance between yourself and the player character. If it didn't exist I wouldn't have missed it. Inside tight spaces 3rd person becomes a real annoyance.

---QUOTATION---
I don't really know why I keep uploading to it as no-one ever watches them

Try adding more relevant keywords in the upload description (not sure how this works in Youtube), for those using the search function. Other than that I guess it's just a matter of spamming all social media (I guess that's what all successful social media accounts do), then once people start watching and linking to your videos Youtube will boost them even more. Also follow as many accounts as possible, provided they follow you back.

What I really noticed from watching the video, was that because you are looking down continuously at the back of you character, there is a lot of time spent looking down at the ground around you. You really have to make an effort to tilt your view and look at what is ahead of you. When you move this is amplified and you have to make a conscious effort to focus on your surroundings. Not really a comment on your playing style or even this specific Game. Just that your video was interesting enough to immerse me momentarily in what you were doing.

Feedback's always good so thanks for the tip, I tend to jerk around with the mouse movements as well which I'm also trying to work on.

I guess that didn't come out right. This is what I meant to say. Changes in parenthesis:

"What I really noticed from watching the video, was that because ( a player using the 3rd person perspective is ) looking down continuously at the back of ( their ) character, there is a lot of time spent looking down at the ground around ( them ). ( A player using the 3rd person perspective ) really ( has ) to make an effort to tilt ( their ) view and look at what is ahead of ( them ). When ( a player using the 3rd person perspective ) moves this is amplified and ( they ) have to make a conscious effort to focus on ( their ) surroundings. Not really a comment on your playing style or even this specific Game. Just that your video was interesting enough to immerse me momentarily in what you were doing."

I just kept saying "you" meaning everyone and not you personally.

Horizon Zero Dawn

When I read about an interesting game, I usually search for gameplay videos on Youtube to get a feel for what it's like, and your kind of no-nonsense videos is exactly what I like to see. Alas I tried to find one of them using some different search terms, here are the results:

Horizon Zero Dawn bandit base nil - 1st position
Horizon Zero Dawn bandit base - 2nd or 3rd
Horizon Zero Dawn nil - 100s of listings down
Horizon Zero Dawn - not listed at all

Apparently new videos with this game are uploaded daily, so unless a video (or channel) already has lots of views or followers I guess Youtube will simply bury it unless the search terms are very specific.

Steamworld Dig

I just played through Steamworld Dig.

It was a nice, short experience, lasting about six hours.

At its core it's a 2D metroid-vania'esque platformer

You play as a steambot-cowboy, digging your way through a mine, upgrading your gear as you go along. It is the most basic of games that I have played in a long time, as it has very little in terms of story and is mainly about you digging your way further down a procedurally generated mine, defeating certain enemies and avoiding hazards. There are four 'levels' to dig through and each level also contain various 'puzzle-rooms', which in turn will grant you access to an upgrade, or similar reward.

The fact that all you do is dig and upgrade, might come off as boring and to a cetain extent it is; This is basically a cookie-clicker in disquise and yet I felt strangely compelled to see it through.

It offers a modest challenge, with nice graphics and a good tune to go along. The sound effects fit the atmosphere and there's a constant sense of progress, which keeps you coming back for more.

It has (apparently) spawned a few more titles (Steamworld Dig 2 and Steamworld Quest) and seems like a solid indie-'franchise', so to speak

I wouldn't pay more than $5 for it, but it's well worth the time, at least.

Lord_Santa

Your post reminded me of an underground digging Game that I loved. You didn't mention the platform of yours so I had to look it up, including looking at the video. I was expecting yours to be something similar to mine, but yours was way more complex with many enemies and intense combat.

My Game was on Android and I had found it back when I had a Nexus 7 tablet made by Asus. That was back in 2012 when I got the Tablet and it was really the only Game I really liked, as I'm not a big Android Mobile Game fan and I find phone Games to be boring and repetitive. I played this until my tablet no longer functioned.

Gem Miner: Dig Deeper ( Android )
https://play.google.com/store/apps/details

https://www.amazon.com/Psym-Mobile-Gem-Miner-Deeper/dp/B004OUB556

I first played the free demo and liked it well enough to make the small purchase price to get the full Game. It's a rather simple Game. There are no enemies below ground and therefore no combat. You're just a lone Miner who is seeking treasure below the surface and you are limited by your oxygen supply. This means you are timed starting off, digging and building passages ( by ladders and elevators ) to get around and return to the surface. There you can sell the items you find ( gems ) and buy better digging equipment, including the ability to stay longer underground.

There are rocks you have to go around or that you can make fall by digging underneath them and letting them drop. There are large voids too where there may not be a way to get across unless you build a series of bridges and/or ladders to move around. There are regular elevators you can purchase and high-speed elevators that are much longer in length and allow you to get below or get back to the surface very rapidly.

The Game is an incredible amount of fun to me because it is so simple. The graphics are clean and easy to understand. The sound effects are great, especially when rocks shake loose and fall. Your visibilty is limited in scale ( headlamp ) and improves with a wider field of vision as you upgrade your equipment. There a 5 levels of difficulty to start out with on the easiest and then build your skills up until you find the one you find most fun.

The good news is that I just purchased a new modern tablet and this will be the first Game I install on it.

I should do that but I don't use Facebook, Twitter & Twitch etc unless it's a requirement for a contest of some description, I missed my chance when I was putting regular content up on my Moddb page, Maybe if I'd pulled my finger out then I could of got some movement, I had over 450.000 visits there between 2012 & a few years back. My loss

ah - forgot about that; Steamworld Dig is available for PC, PS4, Switch and Xbox One. I personally played it on my Nintendo Switch, which is my main goto-platform when it comes to 2D indie-games these days, since I think the Switch is simply the perfect fit for these kinds of games, due to its portability (although mine's stayed in the dock since I bought it)

also, I checked out Gem Miner: Dig Deeper - seems like a fun little game to kill a few minutes here and there
smart-phone games are a tricky bunch, due to a variety of factors (controls being but a small part of the greater issue, as it were), but there are a handful out there that know how to properly take advantage of the medium, in terms of 'play-sessions' (especially) and this one seems to fit the bill, interesting enough mechanics and simple enough to enjoy without feeling stressed out by having to get off at the next station, or similar (I can but imagine playing Fortnite on the subway)

I finally caved in and bought myself one of 'em fancy, smarty -phones (Samsung Galaxy S5), so now I'm going to explore the mobile-gaming market a bit closer (although I suspect, as per usual, I'll end up installing my own creations and other than that keep lugging my various handheld gaming -devices around, but we'll see)

Did you buy a used phone? Nothing wrong with that, it's just that in the US most of the carriers are dropping 3G phones and only supporting 4G and 5G and that model came out in 2014 with a really old version of Android. I think your Nokia was much newer. Perhaps you got one of the newer variants?
