Yeah, that's not a good sign to hear the next upcoming generation is going to be power hungry...which usually means it's going to be excessively hot too. I mean people expect that out of AMD video cards, because that's just the typical way AMD has learned to compete along with their price undercutting. I'll be glad to pay a little more for Nvidia just not to have all the excess heat and power consumption. Something that makes the AMD cards more expensive in the long run some people don't consider.
To hear that both Nvidia and AMD are planning to have hotter and power hungry next generation video cards is not something I want to hear. What I find interesting is no claims or leaks about why. However this is not uncommon as this seems to happen every few generations. It is usually immediately followed by new technology in the replacing generation that runs cooler and uses less power as a selling point. Of course people are happy to replace their short-lived purchase that runs hotter and uses more power ( except for AMD users ) and then the cycle eventually repeats.
I think the important thing here is when the RTX 4,000 series comes out, to try and nab instead the cooler, less power consuming RTX 3,000 series if you can find one or just wait and see what happens in the following generation. Whether it's the popular RTX 3060, 3070 or even 3080, they all sound like they will use less power than what these articles are warning about.

Not sure how I feel about having images or special features imprinted on the side of video cards. I mean unless you have a large window on the side and a well lit interior, just how much do you get to enjoy it?
TS ---END QUOTATION---
There's a lot of really tacky cards out there at the moment, I'm still trying to get hold of some old boxed STALKER branded GPU's like you have but haven't managed it so far.
If someone does a branded STALKER 2 Card I'd jump at the chance to grab one of those even if it meant living on Bread & Drippings for the rest of 2022.
