Audioave10~

A lot of good stuff I see there... Like "You are Empty" and "Iron Storm".
Did you ever try that last one and get very far? I did but did not get far.

That is "Iron Storm" and I didn't get too far either. I do want to go back to it.
When it first came out, I thought the graphics were very good.

If you have a lot of games...you should take a picture.

I had a bookshelf similar to yours where I put my favorite boxed titles,
had two rows of Strategy Guides and bought two four-sided carousels
that you could spin where I kept my favorite games in jewel cases.
However this was several years ago where I have since moved
and downsized and everything I had before is still in boxes.
Things that I have bought since I moved are now out &
all the things I had before are in my spare bedroom.

That's a good collection there. How many games were available in total? I never had any consoles...I'm old.

What do you collect?

I bought a Console back in 1990. There were 3 major ones on the market.
The 8 bit Nintendo. The 8 bit Sega. The 16 bit NEC Turbografx. Needless to
say they were all about $150 and when the Turbografx went on sell for $99,
I jumped on it. Due to a poor choice of the base game it came with, a bad
advertising campaign and lack of future funding, we all know which of the
3 failed within a few years in the US market. I still have all the Games
& hardware in perfect condition. Probably about 30-40 games in total.

My Collection

of course, I didn't realize until it was too late, that I had in fact begun 'collecting' games/consoles/computers, but over the past couple of years, I've been collecting 'technology' in general
it all started out innocently enough...

apart from the consoles in pictures, I have duplicates of most of them, in my basement (original Xbox, I have per example four of)

the VHS collection is steadily growing and I am trying to weed out the crappy movies from said collection

the big box games are a variety of C64/Amiga 500/PC, whilst the DVD-cased games are top-shelf PC-only, bottom-shelf various consoles

I also have more controllers than I really have any use for...

the radio is standing behind the door, at the moment, due to me rearranging a few things; I mainly use it to play cassette-tapes, from the 80's - 90's (mixed tapes, etc.) and also as a radio

I also have 5 laptops, one very old pentium 75Mhz Toshiba being the oldest - the others varying between 700Mhz -> 2.0Ghz (dual-core the fastest)

and of course a basement filled with computer-parts, which I have been slowly shrinking, due to my Wife kinda wanting to utilize some space down there, as well

in the living-room there's another Playstation 3, a Playstation 4 and a Nintendo Wii

apart from the handhelds in the photograph, I also have a GBC that just broke (was my main handheld the past couple of years), a PSP (original), a Nokia NGage (because, why not?) and 2 Palm Pilot V's with accessories

and of course two main-computers; one for me and one for my wife - currently located in the living-room

on one hand I don't really care for 'collecting' old consoles and games, especially not these days, since people have gone crazy with prices, but on the other hand I actually play all my consoles/games (of course not all games, but the ones I do end up purchasing - no game is just left 'standing on a shelf' in this house.)

the Sega MegaDrive/32X/MegaCD combo is my proudest piece in the console-collection, whilst my Amiga 1200 /w 4MB expanded RAM (and 40Mhz FPU, which I'll never have a use for), as well as a 4GB CF-card with Workbench 3.1 and a registered version of WHDLoad (technical jargon for anyone who cares)

of course I grew up on the C64, so the one computer getting the most attention in this room is the C128 (for those not in the know, a C128 has a C64 'mode', to play all the C64 games as well)

the lack of disks and disk-drives for the Amiga's and the C128 is due to me using flash-drives and USB-sticks these days instead

:edit

also a handful of monitors (got rid of my CRT's last year, unfortunately) and a variety of old cellphones (Nokia and Ericsson, mainly, but an LG, Motorola, etc. tossed in here and there, as well)

basically, as I keep telling people - once The Apocalypse(TM) hits, I'll be your go-to guy when it comes to media-entertainment.
