Hi im wondering copy write by gsc
If i mod the stalker game considerably do i get any recognition /money or is it written of as gsc property and hijacked off me and end up having to make a company like 4 games ?
Im just curious as im sure i can out design your designers with my idea
It Could be starker 0/0 to starker 1.1/1.2/1.3
Or come across as stark is a mod derivative of this version i intend to design.

I may sound arrogant but im not id just like to see were id stand legally for my effort
Or weather id be ripped off, the answer to this question will help me decide my actions
Im sorry if my thought sound a little dis jointed but im aware the legal field is complex
So i really need clarity to protect my self.

If you make a mod you are acknowledged as the creator of the mod, but you are only allow to distribute it on a non-commercial basis (IE you're not allowed to sell it or receive money for it in anyway)
If you want you can make your own Stalker inspired game, but you're not allowed to use any of the Stalker games content if you plan on selling it.

yes i understand that,id not expect to use some 1 elses work as if it was my own.
im not realy planning to make money but a learning experience

if any thing i would approch csg and see if they felt it was worth commercial publishing and go from there.


basically i want to make prequel which would having origanal content but implementing s.t.a.l.k.e.r'sstrongest elements.

I'm still trying to colect as much info on the editor as i can but really dont understand why it is so difficult to get important infomation in English to allow the extensive mods I want to do and i am disappointed in gsc's effort to support its English fans.

can i be as bold to ask for csg's help???

even if i can turn this into a community project
for any moders who want to make 1 more stalker game from the 0.7 sdk.

Also, just because the game is set in Ukraine, does not automatically make someone here a 'Soviet'. IIRC, Don is Canadian (or is that someone else I'm thinking of...)
Usually around here, when we ask someone to improve their English to make it more readable and understandable, their response is something along the lines of "Ok, I'll try better next time", not "Shutup you Soviet asshole". Don didn't make any reference to your race or where you are from, he just asked that you try to make your English easier to understand, so you can't accuse him of racism, especially when you also include an highly racist remark in the same message. Also, insulting the mods is a sure fire way to get a ban, especially the only one who we can rely on to actually get some official word on something from GSC. Its also an excellent way to alienate you from this community, so if you want help from the community, good luck after an outburst like that.

I dunno what your problem is, but go take a chill pill, get some fresh air, and come back here a more calm and level headed person.

It is not the first language for most of the forum's members, but this only makes it all the more important to keep your posts readable. You have it easy, since you are writing from New Zealand — they speak English there.

Wow, That's a bit harsh Craig. soviet asshole? I gotta agree on the English is English and not American quote though. I'm in the UK myself and I love SA. I have family living there so you can't say I'm racist plus from what I read he wasn't being racist either. The issue is your spelling which makes it hard to read. The sentences are fine it's just the spelling so there's no need to get a bee in your bonnet, Here's some of your misspelled words.

blady = bloody
listion = listen
cuntry = country

There's nothing wrong with constructive critisism and yes I think I spelt that wrong myself.

i just spent 500$ on my pc so i can mod better.

and wow what to do i cant use this stuff
and i still sit by an editor i walked away from
many years ago as i could not use it..

i can use 3ds max, uted3 ,doom3 /quake 4 radiant,hammer editor
i can design games etc but i just cant do any thing in this editor .
my joy has gone i need help but cant find it
gsc did not even put help files in English...

i feel stumped as i want to make new content ...

collect artifacts on way to ship
sell items buy sniper rounds
order sniper rifle
jump gate find chopper
go back to ship
buy sniper rounds
go to map 2
grab free rifle and scope + ammo
go hospital grab the other 2 guns u will need for rest of game
return to map 1 ship
buy sniper rounds
what more is there to know except get night vision as soon as u can lol

i ask alot but i have some ideas to fix sdk editor
i will add pic later but here is a few ideas.

SDK 8 idea:

right click in view port or on selected object:
brings up option tools and there sub tree.

Edit >> cut/copy/past/Delete/undo/redo.
Selection >> invert/select all/unselect all.
Propertys.>> floating window.
Visability >> hide selected/ hide unselected/hide all/unhide all.
MultiRename >> prompt floating window.

this replaces the toolbar /tools header on right toolbar and

removes it from that tool bar.

function header,on clicking button its subtree
drops down allowing mouse pointer to escarole to desired function on

any header that go's straight to floater will do so as it holds its

Scene and tools have been ordited to a much better function
environment.

so max and Maya format need to be inter grated into the editor

If you are changing/adding/modifying anything in the Stalker World then
it is impossible for you to be "ripped off" since you are not starting with
anything that you created or original content as the basis for your work.
If you are just after money/fame/recognition come up with your own ideas.

but then again why would i use an editor i dont have a clue how to use
just to pop a game that will have to based apon stalker not to start world war 3 ^^

see i like add new content .the map of exclusion zone is public domain
id like to push a story out that before stalker..as they all want to be like him at the end.
the consequents of the stalker series is missing the prolog
and my version will be a prolog to stalker.
id like to make a mod and i intend to get fame and cash if gsc like it
,,i guess a few big if's lol

besides the point im looking for people who want to make a mod and are reliable
if not im looking for people to teach me what i need.

iv never made a mod only mapped levels in editors
im hot headed at times and im very creative.

i want to make a sos map stile in cop editor
i want to revamp Ai that is just bad
i want to add lots of cut seen
i want to redraw weapons
i want to re anime loading etc
i have many i wants but no ideas of how even though i could explain what i wanted in words.

An interesting option if you are really in for the long haul and it will be the long haul as I'm sure you realise would be to use the Crysis engine. There is a scheme available (or was a short while ago) for people like modders to get a free contract with them to use the latest version (at the time) of there engine and create a game that they can then promote and sell (Get this far and you'll be contracted to pay them for the use of the engine which is fair). I did not got fully into the details because of my inexperience but it looked like a good way to go especially considering what you want to do. As you said the zone is there in real life. GSC did not create it from ideas. Alright they did create the details but you know what I mean theres room for you to grow your own zone if you have the imagination and the cryengine2 (or is it 3) offers good support and provides help and your using a more user friendly platform apparently. Don't forget what I just explained is not a reliable source of info just roughly what I remember about the deal so if it interests you make sure to get reliable accurate facts on there offer.

hmm thank you very much for your input, far cry is nice but it is not stalkers editor
and this editor will be my bitch soon enough haha.im getting wormed up in max and having fun ,doing some high Polly meshing for high quality textures..time will tell

just as I learn... side of guard house south of start of sos
be cool to see if my scale rocks or if I bump my head as I run up steps..

If the height of that doorway in the editor is 2 units in height, then it will be 2 meters ingame. Its a 1:1 scale.
