My brand new $10. coaster

Hello folks, I just wanted to tell you about my brand new $10. coaster.
I bought this game called Firestarter and it won't run. I tried to go to the game's site but got a "Page not found" message.

I went to the developer's site and didn't find the game listed in the "Updates" section. I then went to the support page and it wasn't listed there either.

I did see a video trailer for the game but why would I download a video of a game I'd rather play?

At least they have a forum for the game. The only problem is that the support forum there has been dead for nearly a year. I did see a post or two with the same problem as mine but he got no replies so I figure he was the last one here and just forgot to turn off the lights when he left. Hell, Quake 2 still has an active site with support and that game has been around for ages. The developer has a newer game called Stalker that looks pretty good but it probably won't work or have support either.

So, a game with no website, updates, support or forum....I wonder if I can still get my money back or am I stuck with this $10 coaster.

You should ask the store in which you bought it.
This game has not been a success by any standards, and even the developers seem reluctant to support it.

Actually, I tried installing it on my brother's PC and it runs fine on it. This appears to be hardware specific.

I have a newer, better system than his and it surprises me that this game won't run for me.

I figured it out. Go into the C/program Files/FireStarter/BASE/VIDEO subdir and Rename the Intro.avi to something else, then make a copy of any of the other AVIs and rename it to Intro.avi.

When I did this the game started up and ran fine.

Hope this works for you.
