Wow, whadda relief thanks. I thought it was a real bummer ta have ta upgrade my vid card to get the most out of this game, so glad I won't have to -at least not any time soon I hope.

Everythings A OK now this game is so freaking awesome. Bought it at EB the other day on the chance that it might be at least a good graphics buy based on it's requirements(optimal requirements)......boy did I luck out it's not only a great graphics game but it's got fast and intuitive gameplay. Shweeeet!

The slowdown has nothing to do with your system. In fact, this is an optional game feature that is set to on by default. It allows you to dodge enemies more effectively when they come up close. It can be disabled in the option menu if you dislike it.

Hmm.. Your system is good enough that it should not be having problems..

Try setting the LOD Bias to Far or turning the fog off (both of 'em).

Also see what happens if you disable DXT Texture format...

Or maybe try a different Video Card driver set.

slow graphics up close

I noticed that when ever monsters get close to me everything slows way down. When monsters are far away the graphics are great, and fast. Is this normal? or is it possible either my graphics card is not good enough or maybe my game settings are wrong(it still is slow with everything disabled.)

I use a geforce4 ti 4200 64meg
p4 2400 533fsb
1056mb pc333(2700) ram.

Thanks for any help or info on this.

BTW, FS has awesome graphics, at least for me when monsters aren't close by and strangely enough when I do the game benchmarks the monsters do not slow down up close and FPS are awesome the entire duration of the benchmark.
