Before the Cossacks 2 comes, smth to taste of it?!:

Was going on my little quest, frustrated besause of the idea of the Cossacks2 delayed, and found this game- https://www.gsc-game.com/russian/ which, interestingly, does not have a forum or a web site on the GSC English speaking forum sections. Apperently, it is on the RUSSIAN site
, thus bewilderment form me why it was not found in here; if I am wrong-tell me, and be kind ,do point me to the one (web site), and in the Western world the publisher is Ubisoft ... so the game is built on the base of the Cossacks 2 engine, comes out in November...end of it ... I guess no exect date that I know about

I don't think that it's based on the Cossacks II engine, but it isn't on the English Forum and stuff because it's being published by GSC World Publishing, and is only being published by GSC in the X-USSR.

It's fun, certain aspects are very similar towards Cossacks, others towards American Conquest.

Walls can be manned, alltough there seems to be more then one problem with it:

Units don't walk onto the stairs, they jump like kangoroo's

Walls seem to be maid of carbord instead of stone, very easily broken down

MAJOR BUMMER is, walls can be destroyed by flaming arrows, YIKES

But then again, it's just the demo, let's hope GSC can adjust these minor points

Joker, agree about the walls- quite a bit amount of bugs in there to work for GSC, but in my opinion the AI got better- at least they attack in formation and use the week spots in the defence... Another thing, I would like to see the animation on the high-so far only low allowed in the demo ( I guess that's why they call it a demo,) but in general, very smooth play, no slow downs yet- in AC I have horrible jumps - sttuters starting with about 8000 units on the map ( That's with P4 3.4, 1Gig of CorsairXL3200, ATI9800!!!!) Liked the ability to spread your formation in three density levels and has anyone tried a zoom in -out with the PgUp and PgDn keys on the numb pad- seems pretty neat!!! In general I think I'll get the game since it also represents completly different era...

Yep, I agree, AI reacts much better and actually attacks in formation

Indeed, also like the nice animation of the waving trees in the wind and the water is very well done

Oh my, but what do you mean with 8000? 8000 for you or all together with your enemies aswell? Remember, maximum for AC is 16000

Yes, this is a great feature, only a pitty that the siege weapons are made horribly bad, to small, without any units moving or handling them

Nope, thanks for mentioning, I did try the F7 button wich reminds me much of the birds view like in American Conquest

I'll probably, nah, almost certainly get it aswell, I just love the RTS games GSC makes

Just hope they get rid of certain issues that we're spoken about in a negative way
