Good idea

Veteran status would be great, you could mix your formations so that unexperienced soldiers would benefit from the veterans.

By the way, come to think of it, you could use "veterans" to blow stuf like doors, walls, up to get inside enemy housings, fortresses, ...

Once they become veterans, they would have to go to "University" go inside for a while "each veteran would have to do so" and become an explosives expert.

What do you think about that !!!!!

See you later Bagration,

Hmmm, i think this has allready bin discussed, anyway

I think that this one has allready bin discussed about, but i wanted to give my idea about it over here so you would certainly read it Oleg.

Its about wether you should use LOS or FOW, well; if you look at reality, when you go for the first time to a certain place you allways remember certain items, like a church, a statue, you know, stuff like that, and, the more you go to that place, the more you remember. So, wont it be more realistic that when you have visit a certain area that area stayes on the map, but only with those items on it that you saw when you went to that place, new items would not appear untill you visited this area again, and yes i know, this is the same as in AoE, but it's realistic!!!!

To put a new perspective to it, i would use a cartographer, maybe a soldier who goes to the academy and learns cartography, you could make it an upgrade like the soldier who learns about explosives. And when you use him to explore, the part that he explored when he returns to base" inside the acadeymy" this part would stay visible for quiet sometime and after that time period, it wouldn't be possible to see it again.

What do you think about this?????

I hope you will reply to our ideas Oleg

PS: This is also for the other participants offcourse, i hope you will react aswell

Greetings from Belgium,
Joker

Kind off

I believe that the most vital part of the an army is the engineers,(i would like to be one) so i reckon that in the new cossacks game their should be special consideration for these people, perhaps as you said Joker, a line soldier could go to a 'university' and learn about explosives and cartography. This would even allow the possibility of bridges and that would be great. But what i would like to see (hint, hint) is a unit that can be created from either barracks or acadamies that is an engineer and can help in bringing the cossacks game a little closer to reality>

P.S I know that the idea of engineers and pioneers has been discussed at great length but i just wanted you to know my opinion on the matter.

Thanks,
Bagration.

Doesn't matter, I think ???

Hy Bagration,

I really don't think that GSC would mind you telling your opinion about such items witch you want to be implemented in the game, I believe that the more people ask for a certain thing, the more possibility it has to get in the game, offcourse if it's technological possible !!!
And yeah, I also hope for I kind off engineer that can build bridges" wooden and stone", put explosives under bridges, put dynamite against doors, build like a fortification around the cannons.

So, let's keep our fingers crosd and maybe GSC will add those items to Cossacks II

See you later Bag.

GSC if you do only one thing i want it to be this!

I would think it the perfect touch if when you create a formation you can NAME the formation, like the 1st bagration Regiment etc. Perhaps it would be too much to ask if you could name the officer, but if you had real commanders from history you wouldn't need to!

Another idea just as good as this one the ability to attach these formations to each other to create a brigade of regiments! then you could have a Brigadier for this Brigade and to select the entire brigade you only have to select the Commander ( perferably a real historical commander!)

Sorry if i've rambled, but tell me what you think, Please!

Yours sincerely,
Bagration

What ever happened to Diplomats?

I remember playing old games like Civilisation and even they had diplomats, i know they say the game will have an advanced dimplomatic system, does this mean there will be dimplomatic Units?

Any info is welcome,
Bagration
