Upcoming games/releases

Was it 4 discs because it was CD-Rom and not DVD?

I think I own this too somewhere. Still haven't found the box with all my PC Games collection.

This was on Wikipedia:

"A DRM-free re-release of Mafia was released on GOG.com in 2017 after being discontinued from Steam in 2012. The GOG release is essentially unchanged from the original game, albeit lacking the soundtrack due to licensing issues."
https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Mafia_(video_game)

I wonder if the Steam version will have the soundtrack? If not then that certainly raises the value of the box versions we have. Either way I may get this on Steam or GoG. I just checked. I do have the first Mafia Game on GoG but not the other ones. I wonder if they are on sale?

Now this is confusing:

Looks like the GoG Mafia III Deluxe edition includes all the expansions shown underneath it for $14.99. Add Mafia II for $7.99 and I can get the two sequels I don't have for $22.98 compared to Steam's $59 for all three. ( That's $33.02 on GoG for all 3 if you don't have the first one like I do )

I guess the big question is what exactly are the "Definitive Editions" on Steam?

Same here, I've got the 4 cd version, I just watched this video on the Mafia 2 definitive edition & he states that anyone that owns Mafia 2 on Steam gets the definitive edition for free (7:25).

Anyone who doesn't own Mafiia 2 on Steam should keep an eye out for the game during Steam sales & check key code sites for a cheap copy so they can get this definitive version free in August, I haven't heard any mention of GOG doing this which is a shame.

Mafia: Definitive Edition

I got a 4 disc boxset of the original but I couldn't get it to work properly so I've never played it.

Assassin's Creed Valhalla

I must add that Norse mythology does mention shield-maidens, so then it could make sense to put one in a fantasy game as well (though the reason for Rock Paper Shotgun's enthusiasm is more likely political than a sudden interest in Norse mythology).

And I still wonder what Alice Bell means about that horse.

Assassin's Creed Valhalla

Rock Paper Shotgun has been shilling for Assassin's Creed Valhalla almost hysterically lately, but in this piece by Deputy Editor Alice Bell I think the trolling for clicks becomes a little too obvious:

---QUOTATION---

"7 things I demand from Assassin's Creed Valhalla

I nearly wept in relief when an Ubisoft press release revealed that you can play Eivor as either male or female, and customise some of their look, including their hair and sweet, sweet tattoos.

There’s a lot of evidence that women were fully involved in being badass vikings as shield-maidens, so I would love them to be represented in battle (although for the sake of completeness I will point out that some historians dispute the existence of shield-maidens and say that nothing can really be assumed from finding women buried with shitloads of weapons). In any case, arguing about historical correctness in a game where you are playing through the ancestral memories of dead people partially at the behest of alien science gods is moot. Just put more cool girls in, thanks.

Also, keeping with the increase in RPG elements described above, I would like more options to do a sex in this one. Loki turned into a horse and had sex with another horse and then gave birth to a third, even weirder horse, so it’s not like we have to be prudes about it."

Corruption 2029

"The makers of tactical stealth game Mutant Year Zero are back with a new one called Corruption 2029. It looks a lot like Mutant Year Zero but with futuristic cyber-soldiers swapped in for mutant ducks and pigs. The game will be out February 17 on the Epic Game Store."

Resident 3 remake releases in a few months, I thought the Resident 2 remake was very well done so I'm looking forward to this.
