Board Games ( & other non-electronic mediums )

I like all types of games and not all of them are electronic.
Here's a new one I got from Amazon and a video review I found:

Lord_Santa~

Thanks for the links. I've seen several of the Arkham Horror series and
have come close to buying one of them but haven't yet. It's good to hear
that you like them. I like anything that's based on H.P. Lovecraft's works.

Here's a repost I'm relocating here:

a couple of links

BoardGameGeek.com - the end all, be all site for your board-game pleasures:

https://www.boardgamegeek.com/

Vassal:

http://www.vassalengine.org/

"What is Vassal?

Vassal is a game engine for building and playing online adaptations of board games and card games. Play live on the Internet or by email. Vassal runs on all platforms, and is free, open-source software."

Vassal is awesome, albeit finicky (i.e. takes time to set-up proper), but it let's you simulate/emulate, basically any and all board-games out there - worth a look, if nothing else if you are planning to purchase a new board-game, but are hesitant as to how it all looks/plays and would like to get a 'feel' for it, before spending the money.

Why Heroquest is so Great

Hero Quest was an old board-game ('rpg-lite' ), released back when - I used to play it in the early mid early 90's and found it quite thrilling

this guy really makes the case, though:

I actually have Hero Quest and I think one of the expansion packs
stored away with some other Games. Milton Bradley always made
some quality games in the 20th century. Might be worth something:

Another Milton Bradley Game I owned and loved was "Fortress America".
A Game where the Soviet Union, aided by Marxist South Americans &
like minded Asians invades the US from 3 sides. Sound familiar? It's
basically like the movie "Red Dawn" ( 1984 ) since it came in 1986.

used to play day(s) long campaigns of Axis & Allies, as well - once you got a couple of players going, it can be a real challenge:

also, I didn't realize that Hero Quest had reached those insane prices - then again, as long as they don't do reprints, it may be no wonder...

This was a great board game I had back in High School. It was pretty
cool because it didn't use dice and had some unique strategy game play.

Another Board Game I had back when it came out was made a lot
more popular by the movie that came out many years later. I knew
about it because I had read the book and thought it was a cool story.

Another board game I had when younger. Very simply concept and a
lot of fun. I had several of these in the collectable "3M Bookshelf Series".
