It forces the construct of 'training' to their 'potty'.
Potty should be free.

Would I be violating the new offtopic rules about "posting another users personal information without consent" if I ventured to correct a certain misinformed assumption of Marius Lecter about Hhiker?...This talk about tightening the rules is making me a bit nervous... Example moves the world more than doctrine. The great exemplars are the poets of action, and it makes little difference whether they be forces for good or forces for evil.

I read some of that guys posts in the archive i think... Largely amusing. I read the PDA when i wait for respawns in the wild territory. I hide in the truck's back (the one by the levelchanger to the bar) and read while i listen to monster grunts.

Hypothetically:
if it was information that i had not already posted all around myself (which in this case i have) then i would ask in return: why would you rather not let me (or anyone for that matter, if it was their personal details) correct the assumption if i so choose?
Or - why would you be so reluctant to ask the other person "is it OK to share this?"
I personally find it rather unfair if somone, say, has remembered or acquired a bit of information about someone else ("I know what your name is!" I know where you live!" etc.) and goes around spreading it to everyone as some great oracle or in-circle buddy without considering - or asking - if that person whishes this information to be shared. (Think of the excited parent telling the visitors all about your teenage self for example. Charming, isn't it?)
It would be (in my eyes) a different matter, though, if it was referring/linking to the information someone has indeed previously posted in the forum.
Btw.
Just because the expectations/boundaries are spelled out doesn't make them tighter. It just makes them known and clearer. (I personally insisted the points of "ask before you share someone else's information" and "let everyone speak for themselves" to be incorporated to the "Offtopic amendment".) Point made. As long as I didn't upset you, no malice intended. Sun is shinning...great day. Example moves the world more than doctrine. The great exemplars are the poets of action, and it makes little difference whether they be forces for good or forces for evil.
